With NHSD right around the corner, I began to think about how to speed up the tabulation of points at the end of the games. Dividing up uneven point squads and heroes is quick with a calculator, but not so quick freehand on paper. So… I went to WM to buy about 15 $1.00 calculators for our SoCal tournament, but ended up buying a couple wave 8 boosters instead.

No money means doing it the hard way, by hand. Here’s a list of every hero's point cost per wound and every squad member's point cost by member. All are rounded to the nearest whole number, with .5 rounded down. I plan to print up several copies to distribute amongst the SoCal participants, but hope these will be helpful to other groups, also. Feel free to cut/paste/shrink/change as needed:

Nice idea! You still need to multiply, or add multiple times, to get the right point though. For example, a 3-wound Krug is 15x5 =75 points

Two comments, for what they are worth:

I'd love to see these alphabetized (within General), but maybe I am just OCD.

Also, noting LongHeroscaper's point, how about an entry like this:

EDIT: We have always divided and then rounded up/down based on the .5 rule--which means a couple of these are off a point, if that really matters--can't see many games or calls coming down to only 1 or 2 points... However, for the OCD, you could have the points listed as:

Marcus Decimus Gallus 17/33/50/67/83/100

@ LongHeroscaper: Yup, correct. I'm hoping that type of math could be handled easier than the decimal point math. And the extra 10th Reg. looked so much better that a bunch of calculators.

Suggested improvements.

1. Alphabetize all units by general.
2. Use the XX/XX/XX/XX format for all units including squads
3. Arrange it in 6 columns, 3 front side and 3 rear side of say a 6x9 index card. It will be an invaluable tool for everyone's 'Scape binder!

If you have a spreadsheet available (like Excel) sorting is very simple. Cut and paste the list one general at a time into the spreadsheet. With the list selected, click on SORT (under the DATA grouping) and you have a sorted list. Copy and paste back and then continue to the next section.
