Re: Battlefields of Valhalla Discussion Thread
I see what you guys mean by the raised starting zones. I actually thought of that yesterday when I was looking over it out of boredom.
Edit: As for the glyphs... I figured the move glyph would be to powerful on this type of map to match up with the initiative glyph. Is there any low power glyph that is about the same strength as the initiative? Last edited by Angear; July 1st, 2009 at 09:27 AM. |

Re: Battlefields of Valhalla Discussion Thread
I think that the wound glyph is about the same power as initiative.

Re: Battlefields of Valhalla Discussion Thread
I would actually say that the wound glyph is much more powerful than initiative. Something like intercept order would be similar power.

Re: Battlefields of Valhalla Discussion Thread
You can use glyphs in an unlimited manner. In other words, glyphs from SotM can be used for RotV maps, or glyphs from Wave 1 can be used in SotM maps. Well, you get the idea .

Re: Battlefields of Valhalla Discussion Thread
I used to think the wound glyph was very powerful. It's still one of my favorites, but I think it gets more credit than it's deserves due to it's impact towards the end of a game.
At the beginning wounds can be absorbed pretty easily. Give them to a high wound Hero, or if you have a unit like Krug, Alastair or Eldgrim, then you'll gladly take the wounds. But at the end when you have maybe two stingers left against a hero who is on the ropes, you should have a decent chance. That is until the hero takes the glyph and kills you from across the board. Though more memorable, I think it's overall effects on a game are limited. -insert signature here- |

Dignan and nyys pretty much have already summed up my thoughts on Icy Isle. I vote no to review.

Re: Battlefields of Valhalla Discussion Thread
Nah, not a mistake, just a feature that doesn't really work well as far as tourney maps go. Take a look at my map thread, I have a couple of doozies that I can't believe I liked when I first built them. It's a learning curve.
