Knights of Weston custom to match Sir Hawthorne

I purchased an additional Knights and Swog Rider to do my customs of Nerak and Sir Hawthorne. But now I have three extra knights that I can't use as is; so I had the idea to create a unique squad and call them Knights of Sir Hawthorn or Sir Hawthorne's guards.

But, I'm not very good at making customs so I was going to ask for suggestions from the community.

1. What's a cool name?
2. What build point value should I give them?
3. What abilties should I give them?

1. The names I've come up with are:
Knights of Sir Hawthorn
Sir Hawthorne's Guards
I definitely want "Sir Hawthorne" somewhere in the name.

2. My idea was to leave everything the same as Knights of Weston and reduce the build points from 70 to 60 to compensate for the one less figure in the squad. (Knights of Weston official unit has four figures.)

3. I don't know all the abilities as well as I should and people have come up with some terrific custom abilities so any suggestions would be great.

Euryon is surprisingly tart
1) Hawthorne's Harriers?
2) For unique, between 50 and 100. Id recommend about 75 for 3 melee figures.
3) Something dastardly and treacherous.

1) Name is up to you. Your ideas are better than mine, anyhow What's on Hawthornes shield? A hawk isnt it? What about "Band of the Hawk"?

2) Ultimately this depends on stats. I think their base stats should be the same as the Westons...

4 move, 1 range, 3 attack, 4 defence.

3) Abilities, ok. Bonding is a pretty good choice for a first ability. "Human Champions who follow Utgar" - this, ol' Hawthornes chums.

For their second, specialist ability, something that means you want them to gang up on the enemy; thats kinda "evil" and without honour.

How about:

Treacherous Assault
When a Knight of Hawthorne attacks an opponents figure, if he is adjacent to another Knight of Hawthorne, he may add +1 to his attack for each Wound Marker on the opponents Army Card.

Or something. Be good against big hero's; and its kinda a mini krug power, in reverse <_<

Not too treacherous, though. Maybe a bonus against any figure with a Valiant personality?

Discuss what sorta stuff you want from 'em.

On my command, fix bayonets.

The flavor of the characters might justify swapping attack/defense with regard to KoW. Fits the "traitorous" idea.

I heard of another project similar to this one. That person made the squad always be on the same team as Hawthorne, I think. Just so you're aware of other ideas...

Anyway, If I were doing this project, I would definitely do something simliar to Euryon's ideas: give them bonuses when fighting dirty.

Terrific suggestions, thanks. They actually gave me an idea to add some sort of dvantage the figures get for being with Sr Hawthorne similiar to the Sacred Band.

Before the Sir Denrick bio was changed to reference Sir Hawthorne, it used to reference the traitor as Sir Christopher. I made a Sir Christopher and Black Knights cards. They are the first two listed in my "Retlaws Repaints" thread (link in signature).

These might give you some ideas.

Hawthorn Bonding
Before taking a turn with Hawthorn's Harriers you may first take a turn with 1 Sir Hawthorn you control.

Stubborn
You may only place order markers on this card if you control a Sir Hawthorn.


Just my thoughts,

I think if they leave with Hawthorn on Backstab that in turn would be TOO much reason not to use him.

Making it so you still loose them but don't give them to your opponent is better.

I think they can also be justified by still giving them nearly the same stats as the Knights of Weston, but with 1 more move.

My mind is the Pink Zippo that sits on top of a pack of Camel Wides.
