Houston Summer Bake Out!

Come burn the opposition on the weekend of June 27th.

Format:
500 points Vanilla Swirl*.
12- finish
Place: Barcenas Restaurant. 2200 West Bay Area, Friendswood, tx, 77546.
Great game room we used last time. Only problem, we have to consume something.
Fee: 0. We will not be charged for the place, but it is expected we consume SOME food.
SOTM rules.
Glyphs:
+1 Defense
+1 Common attack
+1 Unique Attach
Summoning
Intercept order marker
Healing glyph
No flying glyph
+4 move
+8 initiative
Lucky 20 sider

*Special rules:

You may bring wave 9 proxies. You may have up to two wave nine cards in your army with one condition. You may not have two different types of squads or no more than two different heroes from wave nine if you aren't running a squad. So, you may proxy one squad and one hero, or one type of squad (multiples is fine) or up to two wave 9 heroes.

I would like to see some of those used with other regular HS units. I wouldn;t want to see several people bring all wave 9 proxies. Here are some acceptable examples of proxies:

1+ squads of dwarves and Migol
1+ squads of Mohicans and Hero
Kumiko and Atlaga
1+ Defenders and Atlaga.

Whatever units you use as proxies, you MUST announce to your opponent before game starts. Also, you MUST have a printed card of the unit. Black and white is fine so long as it's readable.

Maps:
TWIN PEAKS

Invasion - by Longheroscaper

Sidewinder - by Gamebear

Poor Sweetcurse, You try so hard my friend. I can't make either of those times. If it is a gameday, I can show up at 4:30ish on Sunday

I voted for Sunday, just because there's a slight chance I might be camping on Saturday with my kids. If that doesn't happen, Saturday's okay, too.

Re: Houston Summer Bake Out!

It would be cool to try our hand at our first tournament on that Sunday. Could someone please enlighten us on how they are run? Is there a theme to adhere to? How many points are alotted for an army? Do we just need to bring our armies, or is there more to bring? Sorry for all the questions, but this is new to us!

Re: Houston Summer Bake Out!

JS, usually, we do this with more time than we are. But, the idea is we will (usually through a Doom Decree) agree on a format. Those usually are things like 500, 400 pts. Sometimes with wacky rules like all fromt he same wave, or at least one figure over 150 or some such. This time we will probably just run a vanilla 500. Meaning bring whatever as long as it doesn't exceed 500 points. We will also have a starting limit of 26 hexes. meaning, your army must all fit in 26 single hexes. Any fogures over 26 hexes cannot be used.

If you all want to try a "Fun" idea, we can do the "Battle of the Planets." Where all your figs must be from the same planet (located on the basic side of the card).

Another idea i to play a "Heat of battle scenario." In that scenario, players take turns placing their units anywhere in the map.

A third idea is to play two-person teams.

So, voice your opinions!

My schedule is tbd.

My wife is starting a new job this week and I'll have to see about her schedule, since we only have 1 car.

You Shake, I Bake... I Shake, You Bake... It doesn't matter, b/c someone will end up extra crispy.
