Re: C3G Strategy/Competitive Discussion (Mr. Fantastic)
Him with Invisible Woman, Human Torch (Johnny), and Thing (I) at 1,000 points has to be my most played army. He's really about
1. Getting that D20 luck 2. Not out kicking your coverage (if playing with Invisible Woman, stay in her aura! And use Rubber Wrap to keep her out of trouble. If playing with Thing, keep him close enough so he can go Clobberin' Time when Reed takes enough wounds). Auto-wounds and mind control are his bane (like they are for most things in the game). He can obviously be played with a lot of other adventures beyond his family ones, but they really work well as a unit. They work pretty well with vehicles as well, fwiw. Oh, also easy to forget but often extremely valuable for getting him out of trouble: Stretch Walk has disengage. C3G can be played with official Heroscape, but it's not recommended.

An interesting thing about him is that when playing with Knockback, when he's Rubber Wrapped someone and he or another figure attacks the wrapped figure with a Normal Attack, they are susceptible to Knockback damage, because he prevents them from being moved. Knockback Rules: Quote:

Re: C3G Strategy/Competitive Discussion (Mr. Fantastic)
Yeah in that scenario you just want to knock back Mister Fantastic to free your figure!
Knockback brings in auto-wounds as well, which are the enemy of the Fan Four. C3G can be played with official Heroscape, but it's not recommended.

Re: C3G Strategy/Competitive Discussion (Count Vertigo)
From the Count Vertigo Discussion:

The time has arrived! Vertigo won't have to worry about Grapples and Web Swingers so much anymore. Luckily Spidey can yank Vertigo down from his perch, or yank himself up next to him. EDIT: Still vulnerable to Leapers. Last edited by toyhandle; November 30th, 2020 at 10:11 PM. |

Yep. Definitely what I was referencing.

Re: C3G Strategy/Competitive Discussion (The Thing *1*)
Never found much strategy wise for him other than to wait til your F4 buddies are hurting then unleash the pain for as long as you can.

Re: C3G Strategy/Competitive Discussion (The Thing *1*)
Pretty much. I suppose trying him with higher life adventurers in order to sustain Clobberin' Time longer is worth a shot, but it's hard to give up on the turn flexibility of Mister Fantastic and the Rock Wall Defense enhancement of Invisible Woman. Also, when you run with those two, they're inevitably attacked before Thing, which reliably lets him power up Clobberin Time. The biggest struggle is just keeping him close, since he's by far the slowest member of the four.
C3G can be played with official Heroscape, but it's not recommended.

Re: C3G Strategy/Competitive Discussion (The Thing *1*)
Played a game relatively recently which had a team of vigilantes+Superman family against the Fan Four. Thing was unwounded and backed by Sue's +4 defense. Damian grabbed height and could only hit Thing, so he took a shot. Killed him in one hit.

Re: C3G Strategy/Competitive Discussion (The Thing *1*)
Keeping him close enough to the fight to jump into action when your other figures suddenly take a bunch of wounds is key.

Re: C3G Strategy/Competitive Discussion (The Thing *1*)
Yep, he's one of the first of the 4 I move up, since he's so slow.
