Re: The Book of Aang (vote for initial)
White Canary is the other (unreleased) bonder I planned on combining him with.
I considered the species as Bender, but Avatar treats its benders as more of a magical or spiritual thing. The Legend of Korra has a bunch of people kind of randomly become Airbenders in an arc without changing their DNA or anything, and the lion turtles initially granted bending to humans through a more mystical ritual. (Naturally this is complicated by bending also having a hereditary component.) But since our magic dudes in C3G like Constantine or Doctor Strange are still human, I'd lean towards keeping Aang human. Using a Bender species is reasonable, though. |

Re: The Book of Aang (vote for initial)
Alrighty, taking all the feedback into account I think I want to move forward with something like this. Aang should be pretty zippy with this powerset, bouncing around the battlefield and knocking people away with air blasts while comboing his other elements still on occasion.
(I changed the movement to 3 spaces just to match Moving Target.) Quote:

Re: The Book of Aang (vote for initial)
Currently, the normal Range and Attack are almost useless. I'd change that by increasing the Range to at least 5 and/or increasing the Attack to at least 4.

Re: The Book of Aang (vote for initial)
Since Aang's bending is representing in his special attack, I view his normal attack as what he could do without bending (which is not much). Usually I like having tension between choosing normal or special attack but I feel like in this case the special is really strong and has choices in it, so there is no need for a good normal attack to compete.
I'm not opposed to that change if people feel differently, as it wouldn't change his gameplay hardly at all. |

Re: The Book of Aang (vote for initial)
I don't mind SA's invalidating normal attacks when it's representing their powers vs their physical strength like this. Plus there are still cases (Star-Lord + Height) where using his normal attack might be warranted.

Re: The Book of Aang (vote for initial)
Design looks great to me. Only thing I’m thinking is 3 base defense might be a bit low? The earth element and Moving Target help of course, but I’m thinking he’d come out a bit squishy for the price. This is probably a post playtest kind of thing though.

Re: The Book of Aang (vote for initial)
Any autoshield is kinda like +3 defense since your average for 3 dice is one shield. So he essentially has 6 defense, just more consistent with less high or low rolls.

Re: The Book of Aang (vote for initial)
I'm fine with a weak attack power here given the character and the mechanics of the design.

Re: The Book of Aang (vote for initial)
Thanks all. I updated the SP with those updates. I'll put the vote for initial back on.
