The Book of Xemnu
The Book of Xemnu C3G MARVEL WAVE 53 THE END? ![]() Comic PDF ![]() Mini PDF The figure used for this unit is a Heroclix figure from the Wizkids Promos set. Its model number and name are #WK-005 / Abominable Snowman. _________________________________________________________________ Character Bio - Xemnu was one of several inmates on an "exile world" until he snuck past several guards and onto a supply ship. The hijacked craft was only capable of bearing him half of the way home, however, and he was forced to crash land on Earth. There his unconscious, non-operational body was found in Blacktree Swamp by electrician Joe Harper. Hopeful that he could revive Xemnu by repairing his cybernetic parts, Harper brought Xemnu's body to his workshop. There he revived Xemnu through an electrolysis process. While recharging, Xemnu revealed that he was a convict and then used his hypnosis rays to take control of Harper. After confirming that his hypnosis did in fact work on humans, Xemnu brought Harper out of his trance and revealed his plan to enthrall all of humanity to construct a new ship, capable of bearing him home. Xemnu was recruited by Roxxon CEO Dario Agger as part of his plan to ruin the Hulk's public image and replace him with a Hulk of their own. As per his scheme, Agger sent four giant monsters on a rampage in Phoenix, Arizona, one of which swallowed the Hulk whole. When the Hulk tore his way out of the monster's stomach he inadvertently unleashed a wave of giant internal parasites on civilians. In the ensuing panic, Xemnu descended from the sky in a beam of light and announced he had come to save everyone. _________________________________________________________________ -Rulings and Clarifications-

Re: The Book of Xemnu
NAME = XEMNU
SPECIES = XEM UNIQUENESS = UNIQUE HERO CLASS = CONQUEROR PERSONALITY = CONTROLLING SIZE/HEIGHT = LARGE 7 LIFE = 6 MOVE = 6 RANGE = 1 ATTACK = 6 DEFENSE = 5 POINTS = 360 XEMNU FROM THE MAGIC PLANET When an opponent moves a figure they control without the Mental Shield special power normally, that figure must end its movement closer to Xemnu than it started, if possible. CYBERNETIC CONSUMPTION If any figure ends its move adjacent to Xemnu, you must roll one unblockable attack die against that figure. If you inflict a wound, you may remove one Wound Marker from this card. REACTIVE MIND CONTROL 16 If Xemnu is targeted and attacked by an opponent's figure that does not have the Mental Shield special power, roll the 20-sided die. If you roll 16 or higher, Xemnu takes no damage and the opponent's turn immediately ends. Take temporary control of the attacking figure. Move the attacking figure up to 4 spaces then return control of the figure to the player who controlled it before the Reactive Mind Control. Figures moved with this special power will not take any leaving engagement attacks. SUPER STRENGTH Last edited by tcglkn; June 7th, 2022 at 09:37 PM. |

Re: The Book of Xemnu
Everything is my problem.
![]() Apostrophes are your problem, though. Its not it's. Powered People Eater for the second power, maybe? C3G can be played with official Heroscape, but it's not recommended.

Re: The Book of Xemnu
Oh also interesting case study for may/must powers as he'll be receiving boosts from friendly auras unless that's optional.

Re: The Book of Xemnu
I'd probably theme it as more of a general "using people" thing than eating them, since I'm fairly sure that's specifically an Immortal thing.
Really love Magic Planet, interested to see how it plays. I could see a Xemnu SZ bomb feeling pretty crazy, since I don't think the enemy has much of a way out of it. |

What's the start zone bombing concern?

Re: The Book of Xemnu
If you can drop him behind the enemy lines (and they don't have any non-normal movement) then he can basically force their whole army to either (a) stand still or (b) actively move backwards on the battlefield, right? That seems pretty potent, especially since he's not fragile.

Re: The Book of Xemnu
OK. But you have to get him there too, so if it's going to be fast, that's with a teleporter, meaning you're going to have a fair chunk of your army back there where they're moving to.

Re: The Book of Xemnu
But, yeah, he's very much a tank. He'll be really hard for most figures to avoid and he won't go down easily. Putting like Robin (Dick) next to him could give people a very bad day. Or giving him D20 boosters for Reactive Mind Control.
I imagine he'll be quite expensive (400+). C3G can be played with official Heroscape, but it's not recommended.

Re: The Book of Xemnu
I guess that's part of it for me. He's not a character with a ton of appearances to his name, but 300-350 is probably closer to correct? I think dropping the stats down from 7s to 6s (and maybe even 4 or 5 on the move?) is probably reasonable, for example.
EDIT: I’d have to re-read all his appearances to claim some sort of Xemnu expertise, to be clear. Last edited by MrNobody; March 18th, 2022 at 11:11 PM. |
