Pre-Game Thoughts/Preview : The criminals have some solid firepower off of a Black Mask activation. Roadblock’s special attack will be really helpful to kill Bizarnage and Tombstone.

Bizarnage obsesses over Winter Soldier. Winter Soldier chooses Falcon for Military Duo. Roadblock takes the Fruit Cake.

ROUND 1 : Criminal initiative.
Mostly movement, Soldiers get some potshots off but no wounds.

ROUND 2 : Soldier initiative.
Roadblock comes down and opens fire, dealing a wound to Tombstone. Bizarnage gets a big attack on Winter Soldier, but he blocks it. Tombstone takes some wounds from Bradley and Falcon, while Winter Soldier gets a wound onto Bizarnage. The Hired Guns end the round by firing at Bradley and dealing 3 wounds.

ROUND 3 : Criminal initiative.
Black Mask starts to move, and the Hired Guns manage to kill Bradley on the initiative switch. With OM 1 on Bradley, the Hired Guns deal 2 wounds to Roadblock. Roadblock tosses the Fruit Cake to kill one Hired Gun, and kills another with Ma Deuce. The round continues, but no more wounds are dealt.

ROUND 4 : Soldier initiative.
Falcon starts the round by finishing the last 2 Hired Guns. Winter Soldier gets a big roll and kills Tombstone. Bizarnage comes in but still fails to wound WS. Roadblock targets Black Mask, but Penguin ends his turn. Black Mask shoots Falcon for a wound, and Bizarnage Clambers up to Roadblock and kills him. Bizarnage gets a decent attack off on Winter Soldier, dealing 2 wounds.

ROUND 5 : Criminal initiative.
Falcon and the Winter Soldier are on fire this round, and tear through Black Mask. He had all OMs on him, and they make short work of Penguin and the wounded Bizarnage to end the game. Soldiers win!

Post-Game Thoughts : Close game. Roadblock didn’t deal a ton of damage, but killing 2 Hired Guns was super useful to end their shooting spree. Tough let him tank a ton of attacks from them as well.

Pre-Game Thoughts/Preview : The red team is pretty funky. The idea is that Manhunter moves his team up, while Zatanna/Roadblock are the main damage dealers. The Weird is around to just be an annoying defensive body.

MA DEUCE: Used 4 times, no wounds.
TOUGH: N/A, he got wiped in one attack from Red Hulk.

ROUND 1 : Creature initiative.
Both teams move out fairly quickly. Only a few attacks this round, with Red Hulk taking 2 wounds.

ROUND 2 : Creature initiative.
Fighting for Control fails, and Man-Bat deals a wound to Frankenstein. Roadblock and Bucky open fire on Red Hulk, but they can’t wound him. MM blasts Frankenstein for a wound, while Frank deals one ranged wound to Zatanna.

ROUND 3 : Creature initiative.
Tough round for the red team - Zatanna and MM get some wounds from Frankenstein, and Red Hulk is going ham, managing to kill Roadblock and heavily wound Bucky.

ROUND 4 : Red Team initiative.
This round is just a bunch of dice rolling, with Red Hulk destroying The Weird. MM is getting really unlucky on his attack rolls, constantly dealing 2 wounds to Frankenstein that he just heals off.

ROUND 5 : Red Team initiative.
MM gets yet another attack off that would deal 2 wounds. With Red Hulk hopping in, the already injured Martian Manhunter and Zatanna are not long for this world, and they’re both dead by OM 2. Creatures win!

Post-Game Thoughts : Some really sour luck for the red team here. Martian Manhunter had SO many attacks that dealt 2 wounds to Frankenstein, which meant he just instantly healed them off. Besides that, Roadblock and Bucky failed to get anything started on Red Hulk, so he just hopped in and cleaned house.

I really think the red team could have made this competitive or done well, had Manhunter not done 2 damage every single attack.

General Thoughts on the Tested Unit : Feels pretty fine. 2 attacks of 5 at 6 range is pretty scary at 170, but its easy enough to shutdown by just parking someone beside him. Home Cooking gives him an interesting pseudo support power, that’ll only get better as we get more food glyphs.

He didn’t do a ton in either game, but I focused pretty heavily on builds that were centered around letting him move outside of his turn.

Preamble: A band of Soldiers dispatched by a shady wing of the U.S. government are pointed towards the elusive Illuminati after one too many of their secretive meetings involving foreign nationals.

Round 1: Food is Chili, but he doesn’t plan on cooking it. Beast removes Steve’s OM. Strange moves and destroys a battlement. BP moves. Roadblock moves. Strange flies over to height and hits Roadblock for 3 wounds, Roadblock was saved by Tough. Tough then autoblocks a small attack from BP. Roadblock moves to height and hits BP for 1 wound with his SA. Tough autoblocks a small attack from Strange. Roadblock blocks BP. Isaiah moves.

Round 2: After initiative Strange heals Panther and moves Beast adjacent. Strange fails a DS roll on Roadblock. Strange finishes Roadblock with normal. We decided to restart the round, since Roadblock did almost nothing aside from a wound on Panther, which was healed.

Round 5: Strange heals Beast for 1. Beast heals Strange for 1. Strange moves a battlement. He misses Isaiah. Beast deals 1 wound to Isaiah. Isaiah moves up and survives BP’s dagger with Living Legend. US Agent moves up. Isaiah misses Strange. Strange DS’s Isaiah and Isaiah is finished by an LEA. Strange hits Agent for 1 wound and IM hits Ageet for 1 wound. Agent misses Strange with Ricochet. Strange moves Black Panther, then Agent, misses with Daggers, and deals 1 wound with attack. BATTLE REPORT SUMMARY
I decided to play one game with and without Home Cooking, this was the one where he skipped the food and just started charging forward. First game he was the focus of all the damage and fell early. Second game he was used less and got more wounds in, since toyhandle focused on Steve. 2 wounds on Doctor Strange (which were healed) so that’s like 110 points of damage roughly on a two tries game. Really the Illuminati is just a really good team with flying, healing, and engagement shenanigans and I ran Soldiers with no bonding and worse range.

Unit Summary: Tough did what it should and Ma Deuce is solid as well. He doesn’t hold up well above his weight class. I’m guessing Home Cooking is a decent part of his worth.

Round 1: Roadblock starts with Glyph of Eggnog, Winter Soldier partners with Venom. Batman uses Shuriken, Grapple, and Medkit. Gordon and two cops move forward. Venom moves and kills 1 cop with a tree and then destroys a bush. WS moves and misses Gordon. Beat Cops miss a tree, a bush, and a Bucky. Venom moves and misses, Bucky moves and removes a beat cop, they are both on center map height now. Batman moves and misses Venom thrice. Robin misses. Venom misses Robin twice and WS gives 1 wound to Gordon. Roadblock’s Eggnog is finished!

Round 2: Venom and WS miss Robin, who is now adjacent to both of them. Batman deals 1 to Venom and WS misses the unblockable. CW misses Venom. Both miss Robin. CW 3 wounds on Venom, Robin misses. Venom deals 2 to CW and WS ends Catwoman and her glyphs fly into the water. B&R miss Venom.

Round 3: Gordon moves and misses. Venom swings to Batman and is killed by Shadow Strike. WS moves adjacent to Bat and misses Robin. Bat does 1 wound on WS who then deals 1 wound right back. Robin misses WS. WS misses Robin. Batman misses, but Robin deals 2. RR flies to the Bolas.

Round 4: RR flies up, fails a Bolas on Robin, and kills 1 Beat Cop (who saves Gordon), Winter Soldier, and Robin. It deals 2 wounds on Batman. Alfred rescues Batman and heals 1 wound. RR flies up and removes 1 cop, 2 wounds on Alfred, and Batman blocks. Alfred heals Batman 2 wounds and Bat deals 2 wounds. RR deals 2 wounds on Bat. Bat moves back to Alfred and misses RR thrice.

Round 5: RR bolas Bat, bombs and removes Alfred and deals 1 wound to Bat. Gordon moves next to RR, misses, and moves another cop up to RR. RR takes 1 lea and is then killed by Batman’s Shadow Strike. Batmheals 1 with First AId. Roadblock moves up. Batman moves up and grabs the Bolas.

Round 6: Roadblock gulps down the Eggnog. Gordon move Bat, misses a bush, and moves some cops. Roadblock moves up and would’ve killed Batman if it weren’t for a meddling Beat Cop. Batman engages from height, misses a bolas, and attacks Roadblock for four skulls, Roadblock shrugs it off with two of two shields, Tough, and Drunken Resilience. Roadblock disengages and takes an LEA, but it doesn’t matter because Eggnog. Attack misses. Bat lands the bolas. Bats rolls three skulls, Roadblock doesn’t block, but Tough and Eggnog makes it so he only takes 1 wound. Roadblock moves back, dodges an LEA, and fires. Batman falls, clenching his cape as he hits the ground.

Round 7: Roadblock fires twice and a beat cop stops Gordon from dying. Gordon engages and is blocked. Roadblock deals 1 to Gordon normally. Gordon hits Roadblock for 1 wound after defense is whiffed. Roadblock whiffs a normal attack. Gordon rolls one skull, which is blocked only by Tough.

Round 8: Gordon rolls two skulls, which are blocked by Tough and a shield. RB misses Gordon. Gordon is blocked. Roadblock is blocked. Gordon whiffs. Roadblock finally overkills Gordon.


BATTLE REPORT SUMMARY
Very even game, constant back and forth battle with a lot going on it felt like. Only Roadblock was left with two wounds.

Unit Summary: Roadblock plays way better with Home Cooking. Just this game alone he’s worth his points (He did 228.33 points of permanent damage). He was an excellent endgame sweeper. He works super well with the Eggnog.

HOME COOKING: Made Eggnog. It saved him from 3 wounds (2 Bat attacks and 1 lea)

THOUGHTS ON THE TESTED UNIT'S COST, BALANCE, & DRAFTABILITY: First of all, it is essential you use Home Cooking. It’s a power on the card (and part of his cost) that you don’t want to ignore and he doesn’t operate well if you run him out early anyway, so make sure you know what food glyph you wanna bring. Roadblock pairs very well with the Eggnog as Drunken Resilience does not affect his 50 Cal SA. Second game it stopped 3 wounds. He does well against mid to low level figures with his high attack special and Tough, but anyone stronger who can get past his defense can make quick work out of his 4 life. Ma Deuce is usually only gonna go off once since it’s a bit hard to park him somewhere, once he gets bonding from the Joes, the double will show up a lot more. Enemies will want to engage him so he can’t use it. He’ll probably be worth cost with the Joes and he’d be 160 without.

GENERAL THOUGHTS ON THE TESTED UNIT: The first game went awful, and the second game he did really good with the Eggnog. You want to use Home Cooking and Eggnog is the best choice for him. Really fun when he plays well. Will operate best in GI Joe teams.

I'll give everyone some time to look the results over here but I'm thinking he's ready to get pulled from play testing and given a final price. Leaning towards leaving him at 170, that last game was a nail bitter, but I'm open to hearing thoughts on other price points.
