Glyph Bio - A gaseous toxin invented by an unstable psychologist named Jonathan Crane (alias Scarecrow). Fear Toxin causes its victims to experience their greatest fears and assorted phobias, and if taken in large enough doses it may have prolonged mutagenic properties.

NAME = FEAR GAS
SUBTITLE = -2 ATTACK

GAS PERMANENT GLYPH
All figures on or within 2 spaces of this glyph roll 2 fewer attack dice to a minimum of 1 die, even while this glyph is unoccupied. Androids, Constructs, and figures with an Insane personality are not affected by this glyph. At the end of the round, if this glyph is on the battlefield, remove it from the game.

Under 2 this is the reason it was switched to a Permanent Glyph instead of Equipment.

Note: For Equipment Glyphs that have an "Area of effect" (i.e. the power text states "within X spaces"), the Glyph is considered to be positioned on the space occupied by the Hero carrying the Glyph.

Would something like this work for an equipment glyph version?

The Glyph of Fear Gas Canister may only be equipped by a figure with the Insane Personality. After moving and before attacking, a figure equipped with this glyph may place it power-side up on an empty space within 4 spaces. After a Glyph of Fear Gas Canister has been placed power-side up on the battlefield, all figures within 2 spaces of Glyph of Fear Gas Canister roll 2 fewer attack dice. Androids and figures with the Insane personality are not affected by Glyph of Fear Gas Canister. At the end of each round remove all Glyphs of Fear Gas Canister from the battlefield.

May need to stay on Scarecrow, but I incorporated the "throw" aspect into the text here too.

Yeah, I think the OP here is missing a line about allowing you to place the glyph as if you're throwing it on your turn anyway, though ...

EQUIPMENT GLYPH

After moving, before attacking, a figure equipped with this glyph may place it on any empty space within 4 clear sight spaces, if that figure has not placed any other Fear Gas Canisters this turn.All figures within 2 spaces of a Glyph of Fear Gas Canister on the battlefield roll 1 fewer attack and defense die. Androids and figures with the Insane personality are not affected by Glyph of Fear Gas Canister. At the end of each round remove all Glyphs of Fear Gas Canister from the battlefield.

Well the throw mechanic was on Scarecrow's card. Kind of like how Kronos, Kang were done.

Scarecrow could be a lot more interesting though if the throw mechanic was on the glyph text.

The "throw" should definitely be on the glyph itself, IMO. Anyone who picks it up should be able to throw it. Scarecrow should just get to manipulate the fear it creates to do "extra" stuff.

If he starts the game with multiple fear gas glyphs that are equipment glyphs, they are gonna give him an aura affect that is ridiculous, because of equipment glyph rules. I think permanent glyphs that are removed at a certain point is best, like with our Time Bomb.

i don't think Equipment Glyph is right though, because once thrown you can't reseal it & throw it again.

Not if you specify in the power text that the effects happen when the glyph is power side up on the battlefield.

This is a point I can't argue, though, so it's probably best to go non-equipment. It does seem odd that canisters of fear gas wouldn't be equipment, though.
Of course that also makes these a really limited resource for Scarecrow, which kind of makes me not love the glyph approach as much ... Maybe we should let him throw three the entire game but their effects stay in play and are weaker than what we have now?

1. I don't think additional text just to make e-glyphs work is the best thing to do AT ALL.
2. I don't think it is odd. Plenty of powers/weapons in the game are not e-glyphs. We can represent weapons however we want to IMO.
3. Just give him 6 Permanent Glyphs on his card. That way, if you can get two rounds out of him, and you can get 6 turns out of him, he can use them all. Handled.

Other potential issues with the Glyph idea.

If he carries 6, how many does he lose when he takes a wound?

If he can carry 6 Glyphs at the beginning of the game, is he able to carry 6 total Glyphs, meaning after he uses one or more, he can go pick up different Glyphs?

Just things to consider . . .
