Re: Introducing new playing-card size cards

I've made some fixes, like Bolt of the Witherwood and Brave Arrow. I've also cleaned up the albums to get rid of the old or duplicate versions of cards (thanks, mathguy).
I'm still working on the SoV and C3V. I didn't realize some more had been added in the last few months. Also, I picked up PaintShop Pro (can't afford full PhotoShop) to upgrade from Paint.net, and I'm having to learn my way around that application, so it's slowed me down.

Re: Introducing new playing-card size cards

I'm looking to get just a few more cards, if anyone orders a few decks and you have a few extra left over could you please PM me? Of course I will pay you for it.

If I end up ordering a deck, I'll post here to see if anyone needs a few cards as well.

Derp. Just noticed this above. Filthy skimmer me.

RE printing alignment:
How are you guys aligning these in the silverlight app?
My first batch came shifted to the right. The right border is thinner. In some cases there is white showing on the left.

I used the boardgame geek method of dropping the image and hitting minus three times.

Anyone use the "reset" option? I'm afraid that, if I did this, and they printed shifted over, I'd have the border off the side.

I'd be satisfied with no white. I only got three or four like that. But I really want a nice even border.

Arranging Decks:
I'm going through and putting in a card for every squad I own.
I realized that these would be handy for a noob like me, to have on hand to look up an opponent's abilities, but that would require a full deck. As of right now, I excluded cards that I don't own. Is it worthwhile to have a full deck like this for looking up info? What is the tourney etiquette on saying "could you just move all of those wound and order markers, I need to read your card".

I love the playing card size. The original is great for placing things on the card, but they're an ergonomic nightmare for sorting and choosing armies.

Re: Introducing new playing-card size cards

I think Xorlof uses the default alignment option with no adjustments and his cards turn out pretty well.

I did the same when buying a set for my brother-in-law and they look great.

Most people are pretty polite and friendly--I don't know anyone that would be upset if you wanted to see their card. But its not a bad idea to buy a full set for yourself.

As did I. I only got a few cards with white along the edge, so minor that you have to be looking to notice it. I'd only [-] twice now, maybe just once.

This is why you print all the cards.

If you need to reference, put markers right next to the card.

Re: Introducing new playing-card size cards

What kind of delivery times have you gents seen from ArtsCow?

My cards shipped from them 24 days ago.

Admittedly, I'm in Germany, though I've no idea why shipping from Hong Kong to Europe would be any slower than to the U.S.

Have any other Europeans ordered from ArtsCow before?

Maybe I caught them on a slow week or something, but I ordered 11 decks and they had them out in a day or two and then I got them 5 days later. Pretty much a week after I put the order in, which I thought was really fast.

There was a free shipping code I used, I don't know if that had anything to do with it or not

Re: Introducing new playing-card size cards

Given how they normally travel to me on the slow boat from China (LITERALLY now that Hong Kong is technically China), 24 days isn't out of line of what I've observed. After it hits the U.S., the trucks get it to me within a few days. I've always gotten things within a month, with 3 weeks being most common I think.

All of this doesn't help you with the shipping situation over in Berlin other than to let you know that, no Artscow does not shell out the cash for especially speedy shipping.

I'm always amazed when I hear about people getting them quickly since it's never happened with me.

There is nothing more dangerous than sincere ignorance and conscientious stupidity. --MLK
