It's sounding like (as I expected), Blob's weak single attack makes up for his defensive strength. Just to clarify, how badly did Blob's team lose the melee army test?

Great work Sir Galahad, thanks so much for the help with this.

While Blob can be tough in melee, range and special attacks can help counter his awesome defense. His single attack (which isn't incredible) also helps balance him out with his defensive prowess. He can be used to tie up opponents while a teammate helps out, he should have some lasting power to be able to maybe tag team to tough guy. We'll see in battle reports down the road I suppose.

So I have not playtested him yet, but as soon as I finish my writeup on Pyro, Blob might be next. Hahma, I can now see that Blob has some serious disadvantages, what do suggest that I cost him at for my Playtests?

Team 2 wins on Turn 1 of Round 8, with 2 Tagawa Samurai, 1 Axegrinder, 1 Minion, and 1 unused Drake.

When the rest of you playtest, do you do some with the figure as part of a team with and against the other superheroes? I didn't see that on the test sheet.

I'd say try him at 160 and see what you think. He had games where he did really well and others not as well. It's really hard to say that it will end up at 160, but give it a try and see. So far with my initial tests, I've been a little too high or a little too low, so it can go either way

Team 2 had more squads vs. more heroes that had to eat up OM's. That might have tipped the scales slightly to one side.

If by "other superheroes" you mean official Marvel and Released C3G units, then yes.

If by "other superheroes" you mean the other heroes and villains from this set that are being worked on, then no and yes.

What we do is compare the "unit" that is being tested against official or C3G units that we know are balanced. Then, once all of the figures from this set are finished, we will do some team tests at the very end to make sure that the teams are balanced and that the units play well together.

Don't worry, Galahad, I don't think any of us are Genconners! I know I've met exactly six people from this board in real life (and five were in state and this year and only four were at tourneys and all of these tourneys were pretty informal social gatherings.
As for Blob, the thing with him is that his presence as a mid level hero is probably going to somewhat cap the number of squads you can use with him in a typical 500 point match. That said, I haven't played with him, so if you guys are still liking 160, I'm happy with it so far. From what I saw of the results, though, he's seeming a bit soft at that point value. Just wanted to see if you guys thought it was enough for a drop or not.

Well Bats, Griff can try him at 140 or 150 to see if he seems underpriced.
