Re: C3G Doctor Who Workshop
You might just have to put them in the photo facing to the side or something?
I believe under the rules that if you're adjacent to a figure, you have clear sight on its hit zone. Is that the intended effect here or not? C3G can be played with official Heroscape, but it's not recommended.

Re: C3G Doctor Who Workshop
I believed that when you were adjacent you just weren’t required to have clear sight. You’re probably right though.

Re: C3G Doctor Who Workshop
It's ... a confusing area of the rules and probably one where doing a deep dive is best avoided if possible!
If you just want the weakness to apply to non-adjacent figures, though, just specify that in the power. C3G can be played with official Heroscape, but it's not recommended.

Re: C3G Doctor Who Workshop
I’m more interested in the weakness being adjacent attacks. The odds of your average Street Thug being able to shoot a small opening on the back of an alien mid-combat seems pretty low compared to the odds of someone being able to pick up a rock and smash that same opening in melee.

Re: C3G Doctor Who Workshop
OK, cool, now that I know the intent .... Just go with the hitzone and give him zero defense. Ranged figures can't hit him at all if they can't see his hit zone and those that can would get around the defense. Adjacent figures would also get around the defense. So the entire theme can be wrapped up in the hitzone and defense of 0.

>Hitzone based rules
Well, if this ever gets through it's going to REALLY screw with the Tabletop Sim edition What's up with claymation? |

Re: C3G Doctor Who Workshop
He will need a melee Defense power. Maybe +6 if engaged with one figure.
The figure pic may need to be profile to get the sight point and weak spot. I want to do something like this for an invisible alien. |

Re: C3G Doctor Who Workshop
I like it. I'd make it +4 to defense for Glory of Combat, though.
I like the changes you made to the first power. Good theme there. C3G can be played with official Heroscape, but it's not recommended.

Re: C3G Doctor Who Workshop
I know what you are going for here but it's not accurate. They are not indestructible except for the breather-port. It's just a convenient weakness.

A) Keep this system where they're invulnerable from range except for on the vent point. B) Modify it somehow, but keep the idea of the vent point. C) Go back to something like I originally had (or like Dysole had) where the weakness is just represented through more traditional mechanics. |

Re: C3G Doctor Who Workshop
One thing to consider, and I don't know anything about them so I can't say, but are the ranged weapons used on them in Dr. Who on the same caliber as the photon blasts Captain Marvel hurls around? How about what Darkseid can do, or Megatron's Cannon? Furthermore, Superman is the Man of Steel, but not even he is invulnerable to small arms fire in our game system. Just trying to lend some perspective here on game balance mechanics and the merging of different worlds.
