New concept/card in the OP: Shard, a reckless warforged hero.

Re: Superfrog's Customs - Shard 11/5 - Feedback Wanted!!
Reckless Barrage and Resilience interact, mistakenly I think; but since I suspect you want Resilience to work on wounding special powers, it is hard to word that without just saying, "Resilience does not effect wounds Shard received from her own Reckless Barrage." Then again maybe you want them to interact, in which case you might want to say the opposite, for clarity (i.e. "Resilience can ignore wounds Shard received from her own Reckless Barrage").

Shard is cool, but that figure is neither Warforged nor male.

Re: Superfrog's Customs - Shard 11/5 - Feedback Wanted!!
Did I ever say it was male?
I saw the figure, and some people on a D&D forum were suggesting it could be used as a warforged, so I just went with it. SoA uses the same figure as an Utgar human (male) mercenary champion, so I figure there are innumerable ways to go with it. |

Re: Superfrog's Customs - Shard 11/5 - Feedback Wanted!!
I like that the more wounded she gets, the harder it is to resist using Barrage. At five wounds, it'd be nearly impossible to pass up (safe on a 7 or higher). Resilience also encourages all sorts of recklessness, such as leaving her on Lava Field and taking Leaving Engagement strikes to get more targets for Barrage... Driven is probably a good personality choice to remind the player to stay focused with her and not get too reckless, but Tricky is almost as good and would give you synergy with Elaria the Pale.

Re: Superfrog's Customs - Shard 11/5 - Feedback Wanted!!
This figure, the Spiker Champion, seems really off to me. It looks remarkably feminine, with a prominent chest, but at most angles that face is distinctly male. In some photos, it even appears to have a full beard.
I could believe Shard was an early attempt at a Warforged, or maybe built by a teenage wizard who thought it would be funny to put breasts on a construct, but I'm just not a big fan of the sculpt. |

I'll probably just scrap the figure and keep the stats/powers for something completely different.

Re: Superfrog's Customs - Shard 11/5 - Feedback Wanted!!
Non-sculpt-related feedback:
I think Shard is an incredibly dangerous weapon. Comparatively, Alastair MacDirk I think is closest and strategically speaking, I think three attacks is just slightly better than two full turns, if you're using Shard as a hero-hunter. That, of course, will change from game to game, so I can call it a wash. That Resilience is fantastic, too. When Shard is down to 1 wound left, there's a 70% chance to ignore all future wounds. To me, that's a pretty valuable ability. Combine that with better movement than Alastair, better defense, and being able to use Reckless Barrage every turn, instead of once a round, and I think you're probably looking closer to the 140 point range. Overall, I love the concept behind this figure. Brutal, reckless, with a powerful desire to live offsetting the danger of driving forward. A very enjoyable custom, to be sure. Sculpt-related feedback: If you want to keep this figure, my recommendation would be that you change Shard from Warforged Soldier to Human Knight or Human Warrior. Though, if you do that I would further recommend that Resilience be changed to something like Resilient Will or something similar that reflects an ability to ignore wounds through pure force of personality. If you choose to find a new figure that more closely reflects the Warforged race, I have no further suggestions. -Ashus |
