Re: Tul-Bak-Ra and Dividers Preview Discussion thread
Wow, these two new previews are interesting. Looks like the Glads/Blasts will be called in frequently to deal with Tul-Bak-Ra's annoying Teleportation power and the Dividers.
TBR's sculpt is probably my least favorite in the game. Very manga or anime-ish. GB, is TBR the 'Bunnee' in your sig? The same level for teleportation is definitely needed. I agree with that condition |

Tul-Bak-Ra sounds interesting to play and worth his points at 130pt. (for some reason I thought they'd make him over expensive because he had a Teleport ability). His sculpt is fine to me, his antennas and shoulder pack fit the teleport, alien mood. Dividers are cool. Pretty basic, but unique at the same time (I think I may just be considering them basic because they're after the Mohicans, but they have some creative aspects to them). Sculpts are rad and a good interpretation of the sketch that was revealed in December. |

Re: Tul-Bak-Ra and Dividers Preview Discussion thread
That's a very good point. the 167% (or 200% with Su-Bak-Na) number assumes that when you divide successfully, you can always place another divider on the board. There will be situations when you can't do that.

Re: Tul-Bak-Ra and Dividers Preview Discussion thread
I like the symmetry between these guys and the drones.
The drones are a 3 man squad which attack as if they've got more figuress per squad but take damage (ie. die) like a regular 3 man squad. The dividers are a 3 man squad which take damage like they have more figures per squad but attack like a regular 3 man squad. It seems like the dividers' special is easier to make full use of, so to compensate, they're a little bit slower and can't be re-birthed from the hive. |

Re: Tul-Bak-Ra and Dividers Preview Discussion thread
Here's a rules question I just thought up of: Tul-Bak-Ra is under an Overhang. A Marro Stinger is on top of the same overhang directly above Tul-Bak-Ra (in other words, they're on the same space, but on different levels). Can Tul-Bak-Ra still use Mind Blast on the Marro Stinger?

i would see no reason why not. Its within range, and he does not need Line of Sight

My brother just made the comment that the Dividers look like Sonatrans(for those who know what they are). They sorta do to me too.

Re: Tul-Bak-Ra and Dividers Preview Discussion thread
Mein apologies if I end up retreading anything, but...
Tul-Bak-Ra is the MAN. I absolutely love Teleportation (which I see a lot of customs using in the future); I mean, ANY ten spaces, with no need for clear sight or anything? Admittantly the whole "same level" is a downer, but, well, you can still attack after it and everything... so kewl. AND MIND BLAST! Oh jeez I can just imagine him hiding out making people's heads explode and all that. Awesome! AWESOME! Teleport Reinforcements, however, is where I feel he's weakest. Odds are he'll be able to teleport five guys, TOPS, next to him. That just seems... I dunno... lame. It's too bad he's not a Hivelord - Nagrub synergy would ROCK. The Marro Dividers are somewhat plain, but not bad, not bad at all. I like the fact that Cell Divide - even if you don't have any spare Dividers hanging around - can still have you ignoring wounds and such. Very cool - I imagine that'll come in handy a lot. ...and, again, let's see how my initial prediction came out! Not a bad guess, actually. They're Dividers, not Hunters, and the stats are DEFINITELY off (less attack, more defense, less move, less points), but I was in the right ballpark with the ability and all that. So, yay me! If your opponent has a castle on a hill though you can't even teleport in to start though. I suppose in a BoV environment where starting zones are sometimes only 10 spaces apart and often completely flat as long as the apportune space to teleport to isn't taken, he could be deadly. |
