Re: The Book of Invisible Man - Design
It is, after all, a League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, so the class fits canonically.
C3G can be played with official Heroscape, but it's not recommended.

Re: The Book of Invisible Man - Design
So if the main League were to go all different classes; Mina would be Leader, Quatermain the Hunter, Nemo the Pirate/Scientist, Invisible Man the Psychopath, Jekyll the mad Genius, and Hyde the Brute.
Those all have their own synergy pools for the most part. And then the other route they would all be Gentlemen, save Mina who would tie them all together as the Leader. It's a question of how important it is that they be able to work independently of one another. If we did have Sherlock Holmes that would be forgoing Investigator. At that point I would almost want another power that hands out the extra class of Gentlemen, but that could be accomplished much more easily with a powertag. I think Mystery Men is a pretty good analog, but that is actually most of what JLA do/are known for, while these characters all have a certain notoriety from very different backgrounds/careers. |

Re: The Book of Invisible Man - Design
Right now other characters that would sort of fit in with the League would be Dracula and Gentleman Ghost. They both have d20 powers. Mina could have Star-Lord power and get a bonus for each unique class/personality combo and get +X for each one allowing her to boost both initiative and d20 rolls.
Then each League member would have an important d20 or initiative power like Invisible Man. Or we keep to the simpler power tag bonding with a more Victorian or literary hero themed title. |

Re: The Book of Invisible Man - Design
Good point on their all having different backgrounds. The idea of an Investigator Sherlock that works with Occult Batman is highly appealing to me.

Re: The Book of Invisible Man - Design
Dracula's an Event Hero, so he probably doesn't matter. It would be really cool to get her some light synergy with Frankenstein though.

This is what her power would most likely look like.

With a tag it would be more something like this.

Re: The Book of Invisible Man - Design
The Star-Lord route would really emphasize Mina as a leaderpiece who can pull any jumbled group together, which I think does fit her well, because that's basically what she did/does.
The Powertag ties the team together more and leaves less of them in the wind if it turns out Mina has better options, but it also means LXG is usually the only team you'd run them with. These are all literary characters all their own outside the LXG comics and since there is caution on overusing the Powertag, I am fine with them being more standalones who can be brought together by Mina for those who want the League. |
