As much as possible, I'd like to retain divisions from last year. Why? Because part of the fun of divisions (as any NFL fan knows) is the development of division rivalries over the years. If we realign the divisions every year, we lose that opportunity.

Since it's not like I can draft a new QB coming out of college that makes my squad suddenly better than theirs.

About the only way to do that is if you had some balancing mechanic so that the last place team in each division gets to build their army with extra points and the first place team has to take away points each season.

I think it would at least be worth polling the group of more than just the folks that made the playoffs.

Plus Rivalries will form naturally.

That's correct. The balancing thing we have in place is draft order for the ensuing season, fwiw.

Notably I make this suggestion as someone who came from the strongest division last year and wants to keep it intact (strongest based on record).
