Re: What Board Game Are You Currently Playing?
Does anybody play any fun dinosaur-themed games? I'm slowly assembling a Christmas list and that's a huge thematic hole in my collection.
C3G can be played with official Heroscape, but it's not recommended.

Sounds like someone needs to get busy on a savage lands booster.
Would I want it to be everything I love...sure...but that's just not realistic so I'm going to focus on finding things that will make me unhappy and work on fixing those.

Heh. Not me. I don't think I know X-Men stuff well enough to get anything I would design past the other Heroes.

I've heard Dominant Species is pretty good. Never played it myself though.

I think it's good if you have about 3 hours to kill. Has a huge amount of strategy & planning. So many different paths to victory. But it can give you a headache by the end because you are thinking the whole time.

Hmm, I like games like that, but it's not the type of thing likely to get a ton of play in my current group. Thanks for the details!

Played Spartacus for the first time tonight, ended up getting in 3 games too. Pretty fun game with a real interesting game mechanic where you lose attack and defense dice as you take on wounds. We found that their are several different ways to win. Playing through the first round of the first game took a little while as we were going over each rule as we played, but then the rounds started going pretty quickly and the 'quick' version of the game certainly lived up to the name. I don't think it will be long before we start playing the longer versions. Played with 3 players and while fun, I think 4 would be better as more negotiations will take place, negative effects will be spread around a bit more, and more money will be spent and bet through out each step.
