Just a follow up on the Prime truck at Walmart, it would cover like 6 hexes (2x3) and be full sized rather then the smaller than scale DO truck & cars C3G uses. So it might not be a good option after all as you would need to clarify movement rules for a wider base.

Wow, 2013, those have been perculating for a while. I'd need to pull out something and try out the turning rules to see how they work better. I'm struggling to visualize it without visual aids, but a big tank on the board would be awesome!

I kind of love you for coming up with that, quozl. I've been struggling to work that out for a while, and some elegant rules like that for figures larger than 2 hexes is going to be amazingly invaluable to me for my personal customs. Would those rules work for figures wider than two hexes or just longer? (Wider is what I need more than anything.)


As for Prime himself, my concern with allowing that is that it might create the expectation that that's how Transformers should work, when most of the time I'd much prefer to (and think it would be far more elegant to) just roll their transformations into their regular stats and powers.

Well I suppose that would depend on the depth of the transformation. Is it just a hand, or the entire transformer? If it's the entire transformer I'd recommend the VDO route, otherwise I'd go the stat route.

We should never be hindered by expectations. We simply need to be true to ourselves and this project.

In most cases it's the entire Transformer, however they transform back and forth so rapidly and it's so widespread that needing to design an extra figure for every. Single. Transformer is just going to be inelegant. I see no reason Jazz couldn't just represent his sports car mode with having a move of 8. I wouldn't mind Optimus being an exception - he's iconic and his stats and powers don't represent his truck mode very clearly here - but I'd want him to be an exception. I wouldn't want to have to gimp the stats of every transformer and then go through the extra faff of giving them a vehicle mode when they could, thematically, easily transform back and forth several times in a single turn.

It could be a lot like the figures that start the game with new glyphs. When you design a transformer you automatically get the VDO to go with it and you design them together.
