The Book of Magneto (AoA)

Yeah, I'm not particularly worried. Like Ark said, Reed can potentially take a turn with himself, Ben, She-Hulk, and Surfer multiple times per game. Magneto just doesn't come off as that strong comparatively. I'd feel a tad more worried if it was all Mutants, not just Rebels.

Just throwing something out there that came to mind, but what if the power worked like this?

LEAD THE REBELLION
Once per game, after revealing an Order Marker on Magneto and taking a turn with him, if you lost initiative this round, you may immediately remove all unrevealed Order Markers from Army Cards you control. If you do, for each Order Marker removed, choose a Unique Rebel Hero you control. Take a turn with each of the chosen figures, and you may not take any additional turns with other figures you control.

Basically trading out the space restriction for an OM reveal one, meaning you'll often want OM1 on Magneto, which I think would give him a "leading the charge" vibe. It also avoids the out-of-turn turns, but I honestly don't know why we've avoided those in the past. Might be worth checking with SW or whoever to make sure they don't break the game in some niche case.

Idk, just an idea I had. Not pushing for it at all.

It's mostly just an "interruption/disruption of typical game flow" type of concern. Tying it to the expenditure of Order Markers helps a lot.

That version loses the ability to essentially go first on an initiative loss, which is part of the appeal. It’s meant to be an emergency switch to blitz the opponent to try and turn the tides.

I’d also want to avoid always having to have OM1 on Magneto. Certain figures really need to make use of those turns to be effective, and always having OM1 on Magneto in hopes of it being the round you can pull the trigger, can lead to missed opportunities with Sabretooth or Colossus etc.

Yeah I like this aspect and would rather not lose it if we can help it!

Looks like we have a favorable direction. Updated the SP. If for whatever reason he's coming in a bit stronger than 340, the easy/first dial to turn is to make the attack/d20 boost affect allies only, rather than himself as well.

I propose we move to Initial Playtesting.

You already know my stance on it. None of these are the same as their Earth-616 counterparts, and their universe has crossed over, it's even a theme in the story-arch itself that they are aware of.

OK. Well if you want the symbol on it, you have to introduce that for discussion. Probably worth doing before too much more testing is done on these guys (though this guy in particular is so tied to the Rebels that I'm not sure you'd really want to draft him with the other Magnetos anyway).
