I actually had the same "only downhill" thing on an actual Bowling Ball power (for Sportsmaster), so yeah, that seems like the right idea.

When attacking a figure adjacent to a Metal Man or Inventor you control, Platinum may add 1 to her Range and after attacking, she may attack that figure one additional time with her normal attack.

PLATINUM WRAP SPECIAL ATTACK

Figures attacked with this Special Attack may not move for the remainder of your turn. After attacking with this Special Attack, if you rolled one or more Blanks, you may remove an Order Marker at random from the defending figure's card.

Okay here's an attempt at Platinum, the last Metal Man. I'm not totally satisfied with this take, but I think it captures the big points. (Has a bit of a temper, in love with Doc Magnus, wraps around opponents and can stretch really far.)

I really want to re-do Mercury with another combo attack so he'll have a synergy power, does anybody have any ideas at all?

Well, platinum has a high melting point and resistance to corrosion, whereas mercury is corrosive. When it comes to industrial uses, I could see the two being combined to make a battery?

MERCURY THERMOMETER SPECIAL ATTACK
Range 1. Attack Special.
Before attacking with this Special Attack, roll the 20-sided die, adding 1 to the roll for each Metal Man adjacent to Mercury. If you roll;
-a 1-5, roll 1 attack die
-a 6-10, roll 3 attack dice
-a 11-15, roll 5 attack dice
-a 16-20, roll 7 attack dice

Tbf, I'm not pulling it from any specific comic source. But obviously a thermometer is one of the most iconic uses of mercury there is.

Mercury's whole thing is that he's basically the Raphael of the MM. He's hot-headed (get it?) and a bit egotistical. That led me to lean towards a power that's more of a gamble. He can hit it big or get in way over his head, all based on how he rolls. Having other MM around helps because they're all about teamwork.

It is kind of a cartoon-y and slightly vague concept, but I do think that's fitting to the Metal Men aesthetic in general.

Mercury is never attacked when leaving engagement. When rolling defense dice against an attack, Mercury always adds one automatic shield to whatever is rolled. When Mercury is attacked by a figure with the Electrically Charged or Lava Resistant special powers, he rolls 2 fewer defense dice.

I'd base it a little more closely to Steel Skin off of Colossus. Also I'd include Lava Resistant to what it is weak aagainst.
