Yep. Basically if they all have the Warbound power as is, it’s fine. But also give them all a different way to move themselves for free so it’s easier to keep them all together. It’s just so hard to keep melee groundpounders together without it. You can even give Hulk the better power to keep them together but having that mechanical tie is nice.

How would the powers be different? I don't want it each design to have the same two powers. Could Warbound be combined with a movement gimmick?

You could have Korg get a free move of 4 spaces when a friendly figure is attacked within clear sight of him. You could have Miek get a free move whenever a friendly figure is attacked. Stuff like that.

Tickle, would something like this be okay with you? I hear what you’re saying about passive movement, but I agree with Alex that every design having the Warbound power and then also a passive movement power might lead to them all feeling a bit same-y. I’m personally fine with Green Scar doling out all the passive movement - by the time the enemy takes out a Hulk, you should probably have your troops as in position as they’re going to get. But another alternative could be to give both Hulk and one of the other designs passive movement powers. Like something like this could be cool for Caiera;

Alex, the design/breathing phase is theoretically the phase where you workshop the design to be more or less in its finalized form. Obviously that doesn’t always work, and design changes have to be made through the rest of the process, but the hope behind the breathing phase is that the group talks through the design until we’re completely satisfied with it. Generally if design discussion is still being done, it’s not a good time to move ahead. That’s not a hard rule - sometimes it’s just simply impossible to please everybody - but that’s the goal!

I really want to commend you on jumping headfirst into this process. Public designs, especially ones by first-time LDs, can be harder than other designs. This design will probably have added challenges, sonce we’re trying to hypothesize about a faction that doesn’t even exist yet. My main advice is that, ultimately, you’re the Lead Designer. This is your project to push forward as you see fit. That’s definitely not saying to ignore the Heroes - every single one of them has earned their place by displaying an extensive knowledge of both the game and designing. (Except for me, I’m a total idiot.) But the roles of the Heroes (and any other members!) in general is to push, prod, and (constructively!) criticize your design in an attempt to make the best finished product possible.

But it’s still up to you to guide that ship to its destination, and the fact the Heroes voted Yea on the design means you’ve earned the trust to do so. By all means listen to constructive criticism, but I also think we’re all really hoping to see you take a guiding role in this LD and make your vision shine.

Sorry this is a bit long and ramble-y, it’s cause I was rambling.

I like that Warbound, that'll definitely keep them unique. And I appreciate your ramble, it definitely makes me feel more comfortable going forward with this LD .

I like that take on Warbound. Better conveys the whole "you mess with him, you mess with me" approach and makes it a little less of a keyword. I think you could streamline the power a little like so:

WARBOUND
After a Gladiator figure you control defends against an attack, you may move one other figure you control with this special power. While Korg is adjacent to another Gladiator, add 1 to his Attack and Defense numbers.

or, since most Gladiators are likely to be Warbound anyway, you could reverse the trigger and make it a little cleaner while keeping it largely the same mechanically for the Warbound faction:

WARBOUND
After Korg defends against an attack, you may move one other Gladiator you control. While Korg is adjacent to another Gladiator, add 1 to his Attack and Defense numbers.

Should Warbound apply to when a Gladiator defends or when they are wounded? I feel like free movement every time a Gladiator defends seems a little OP, but I'm fine with it as long as everyone else thinks it's balanced.

Ok, I say we stick with the defend wording and change it if it feels OP later on.
