Re: The Book of Shipping Containers Terrain Tutorial
Did we decide just castley maps are unbalanced or warehouse ones too? I really like that earlier idea of weakening the already busted warehouse on life. Any big DO can just be bustible.

Re: The Book of Shipping Containers Terrain Tutorial
Yeah, making it more bustable would’ve been a great fix for making it more usable and balanced on maps. The Heroes voted no, though.
C3G can be played with official Heroscape, but it's not recommended.

Re: The Book of Shipping Containers Terrain Tutorial
4 hexes tall would work. A Move of 5 could then climb on top of it.

Re: The Book of Shipping Containers Terrain Tutorial
They're not really shorter, just not as long. Like in RL they most commonly come in 20 foot and 40 foot lengths and are about 8 feet tall and 8 feet wide.

Re: The Book of Shipping Containers Terrain Tutorial
I wouldn't put anything people turn into houses as 4 height

Re: The Book of Shipping Containers Terrain Tutorial
They typically stack them at least 2 high for that so height 8 if they were height 4.

Re: The Book of Shipping Containers Terrain Tutorial
I’ve been in these hints several times for my job…no way they are 4 or 5
They make houses out of these things for crying out loud. If Cappy is 5 they are 6 easily. Even the 20’ Half length ones are the same height. Would I want it to be everything I love...sure...but that's just not realistic so I'm going to focus on finding things that will make me unhappy and work on fixing those. Re: The Book of Shipping Containers Terrain Tutorial
I used these quite a bit right after I made them all those years ago. Usually ended up putting a few hexes next to them to act as steps for those who didn't fly/jump. Never really had any competitive issues that I recall.

Re: The Book of Shipping Containers Terrain Tutorial
these were designed with HS figure scaling. On a map they are physically 5.5 HS levels high. that's why I have always called them a 6. If you want to call them a 5 you could get away with it. Calling them anything smaller is just plain wrong. Making them smaller & still calling them & making them look like shipping containers is ridiculous. 3 pallets stacked is about the same height as 2 HS levels.
So I would say that by themselves they aren't suited for competitive play but if you design a map with stacked pallets next to them I am sure you could come up with something competitive. Somebody could design some wooden crates that could be either 3 &/or 4 high. they would either need to be made wider to fit a hex space on them or make a rule or a power on the card that allows figures to stand on them or at least use to step up onto other objects. In short some objects may not be competitive by themselves but a map designed to use them in conjunction with other objects could still be a competitive map.
