The Great Heroscape Pronunciation Guide

This will be an on-going project with the end results submitted to the site as the Official HeroScape Pronunciation Guide. This project will require every 'Scaper's opinions and help, so that exact pronunciations can be analyzed and finalized for a universal translation.

Instead of having a poll for each vote, I'm going to simplify things and ask for opinions in blocks.

Each block will contain a number of names that will be entered into the Guide as the official pronunciations of Heroscape.

Each block and request for opinions will run for 1 week (7 days) and then will be updated at the end of that term.

If you don't see a possible pronunciation listed below each entry, please list it and I will add it to the list of choices.

With that being said, the first thing I would like to do is post a list of Spelled Pronunciations that will be used to determine names of entries for this Guide. All you will need to know is basic phonetics based on the English language.

Aw / aw - as in awful, caught, jaw, thought

Oo / oo - as in blue, hoot, newt, reuben
Oo / oo - as in foot, good, should, wood

The Generals will probably be next after the first Master Set. That was a flub on my part. Also, each set name will be figured out as well, and most likely the various land regions too.

Definitely "Grim-knack," since this is orcish we're talking about.

Blackrock is surprisingly tart
I've always pronounced the orc champion suffic as "knack." As for some others, I always thought Charos was "char-o's," but I think I read somewhere recently that it's really "kar-o's." I figure Dünd is pronounced "Doond" and Dzu-Teh has a silent 'D' for "zoo-teh."

I see Gurei-Oni on your list... What is that? I've seen it in someone's signature before but not with a picture. Is this a Heroscapers in joke I don't know about?

Check your spelling.

Malodorr is the name of a swamp in Valhalla.

Sigling is the name of a sea in Valhalla.

You can find the names of a lot of regions by checking out the Map of Valhalla in the Downloads section.
