Re: The Book of Colossus (AoA) (Vote for Public Playtesting)
I think he should by tried with Cyclops II at some point. I’ll get to that if I can, but things are going so fast I have a good feeling I’ll miss him!

Re: The Book of Colossus (AoA) (Public Playtesting)
I can run one if need be. I’m not sure there’s anything being offered there that Professor X or Sidekick builds aren’t already offering.

Re: The Book of Colossus (AoA) (Public Playtesting)
Cyclopes II can certainly lead a powerhouse team. I found that his range of 8 while bonding means he can sit way in the back out of danger of some armies and just pick you apart while the other mutants are fighting on the front line. You either need to match his range with someone on your own team, or have someone with a disengage power so you can break off and go after him instead of his teammates. Just hope he didn't bring Blob and Magneto/Jean with him or you might not get the chance.

Re: The Book of Colossus (AoA) (Public Playtesting)
Thanks for the quick tests! I was actually gonna ask if you wanted to play against me for your games, but you knocked these out super quick, which I appreciate. I'd love to face you in a couple games with you playing as Cyclops II sometime, just to see if I can beat your armies. I've lost several times using Cyclops II in testing, so I don't see him as an unbeatable force, it's all in how you approach it and what armies you're using, much like the Titans, FF, or Legionnaires.
In this case, I think your armies favored Cyclops II enough to make the difference. In Game 1, Luke Cage and Spider-Man hate auto-wounders and multi-attackers, and Game 2 Angel's ability to just move anybody around after defense, completely gets around a lot of what makes Drax II and Gamora II great. They don't do well when their opponents can freely dodge multi-attacks and leaving engagements. I didn't think the Cyclops II combo would mean much for Sabretooth, since Cyclops can't get Sabretooth's defense bonus or have him take wounds for him. And for Colossus, Professor X already offers 2 Mutant turns, so having Colossus getting his attack(s) while another Mutant can still attack, really wasn't anything unique happening there, and you're just limited to Cyclops. I think I'd rather take Wild Child if anything from my experiences. But you've proved they are at least decent together. Overall we're looking good! @270 1-1 Medium loss vs FF Medium win vs Fighters @300 2-3 Close loss vs FF Close/Medium loss vs Titans Close/Medium win vs Fighters Medium loss vs Titans Medium/Big win vs Guardians |

Re: The Book of Colossus (AoA) (Public Playtesting)
Yeah, I think if our games so far have proven anything, it's that you're a better player than I am. So I'd definitely be interested in seeing how you get around Cyclops, cause I feel like I have a lot to learn there.

Re: The Book of Colossus (AoA) (Public Playtesting)
Cyclops II + Blob is the only thing that can beat Superboy/Nightwing/Raven/Starfire.
C3G can be played with official Heroscape, but it's not recommended.

Re: The Book of Colossus (AoA) (Public Playtesting)
Hey now...Nobody deserves that much abuse.
Would I want it to be everything I love...sure...but that's just not realistic so I'm going to focus on finding things that will make me unhappy and work on fixing those. |
