10th Regiment of Foot- What's your Army Idea?

I just played at a tournament:

10th x3
Marcus
Roman Legion x2
Crixus
Total: 515 (for a 520 pt competition)

I came in second with 4 wins/1 loss

Marcus gives an extra move to all the romans and the 10th (they move a whopping 6). The 10th also get an extra attack die when next to Marcus when you need an extra kick. That's 5 die when they wait then fire, plus height, plus Marcus.

During the game, you move Marcus to height with the 10th, while the romans are set-up as a melee picket line. It's also helpful that you get to move the romans for free everytime you want Marcus to move (by putting your order marker on the romans).

Crixus is actually vital for this army. He is the Zelrig contingency. If Zelrig is across the board, you put at least two order markers on Crixus. If Zelrig comes in, you tie him up with Crixus, and then blast him with the 10th.

Besides being a lot of fun to play, they all look really cool together as well.

Hmmm.... Krug for heroes, Zelrig for squads, Marcu for a glyph, 10th Reg for everything. Nicely balanced, I like it!

Ne-Gok-Sa seems like a better choice than Crixus, as he bonds with the legion. He can serve the same purpose as Crixus - a blocker for Zelrig and other big squad killers.

Build a nice little fortification with Raelin and the 10th, and use Cyprien to assassinate any units that won't come and play. Maybe not quite my style, but I think it could do well.

Haven't seen many Marvel permutations:

Parmenio - 90
2x Sacred Band - 100
Spider Man - 160
2x10th - 150

I would give this army to a new player in a heartbeat because it has the basic building blocks of play--bonding, range, clean up and adjacent rules. After several games of this draft, I think a player would have a clear sense of their likes and dislikes. Of course, Parmenio disciplines Spidey for the army bonus. In placement, the smart money is on a wave of range, followed by a wave of melee, ending with one of the all time great clean up pests.

I'm sure it's been posted already, but another Mass. Line army:

2x10th - 150
Q10 - 150
Raelin - 80
Kaemon - 120

Not alot of units but with two heroes bringing multi-attack, you won't notice. A fairly straightforward run and gun army with the line holding, well, the line, around a clutch area on the board.

I just can't see the Imperium ever being viable without some major help, or in an all-melee tourney.
