Re: Index of Classic Heroscape .stl files
Here's scans done by TS contributor Guzma for the missing models from that list, I think I already posted these on the HexScape private forum but I guess they should probably be on a public thread. Guzma had a fairly basic setup so the textures are not great due to uneven lighting. But if you just want a high resolution untextured model then I guess that isn't too bad. A lot of these are just the scans of the missing models from squads that were already present in HexScape.

Re: Index of Classic Heroscape .stl files
I cant remember if this was the thread we were talking about it in but this video perfectly shows some tricks for speed painting groups of units quickly and nicely. I use quite a few of these little tricks but base coat in krylon or rustoleum spraypaint instead of airbrush.

Re: Index of Classic Heroscape .stl files
Willing to help scan, photograph or render where I can and have figures to do so. Just have not touched the likes of Blender in a long time. Not sure the best way to help in doing so. Reading through there appears to be a lot of ways, the turntable with a bunch of marks to take photos sounds easy enough.

Re: Index of Classic Heroscape .stl files
I'm looking to get a 3D printer now. There's so many out there that I'm not sure where to start. White Knight, I believe I read that you have an Ender 3 - would you recommend that one? Amazon reviews seem to be solid but for all I know there may be better/easier ones.

That is really popular and is known for it's large print bed. I have one in the box still.
Once you get them dialed in they are pretty good for the price. |

Re: Index of Classic Heroscape .stl files
What are everyones thoughts on printing some of these scape figures as large and huge figures. I did it to a few grut orcs with the lower resolution files. Its going to be sweet to make some of these big guys with a higher resolution.

If you have more money to spend and want something more trouble-free, I could recommend some FDM printers that have good reviews. As TREX said, resin printers are higher resolution, but the miniatures are a little more fragile, and the resin needs some UV curing stuff and probably a vent for the fumes. Also the resin is more expensive ($1/mini compared to less than $.25 for an FDM mini). |

Amazon and/or Woot! will run the Ender 3 for $160 - $170 at times. The savings will pay for a couple spools of filament or a glass bed and other accessories. |

Re: Index of Classic Heroscape .stl files
Thanks guys! I've got some research to do (my dad is also looking to get one, so we may do a purchase together). That price point on the Ender 3 is definitely appealing.
