Overall Look: I like the look and the use of Small Houses

Stability: I played on TTS

Build difficulty: I played on TTS

Size: It’s a good size

Unit types positively affected: Figures that can dominate large areas and hold them like this map as the map filters a bit to the middle space between the two houses. There’s some potential for snipers on the hill near the start zone to do well as well.

Unit types negatively affected: Slow melee units can circle the house and get there, but life can be hard for them (just like on any map, really). I still managed to get there mostly playing these, but then they lost because they’re not strong.

Key areas on the Map: The start zone hills and the hill in between the houses

Areas not used much or at all: I didn’t pass through the houses much at all. I could see a version using houses with interiors and glyphs inside the houses that would make that more appealing.

Hugo has the Beat Cops attack two Joker Goons and take out one.
Batman uses his Shuriken and takes out a Joker Goon, but can’t hit Harley. Robin doesn’t move out of the Cops’ protection.

Round 3: Initiative Insane Clown Posse. Joker advances but doesn’t have a target. Harley engages Gordon but can’t hit him.
Beat Cops take out the last Joker Goon and hit Harley for one wound.
Joker can’t hit his Toxin and he and Harley fail attacks on the Beat Cops.
Beat Cops shoot at Harley and Joker, but can’t hit anything. Robin uses the Police Scanner to reposition.
Joker and Harley each pick off a Cop.
Batman hits Joker for a Shuriken wound and Joker laughs off the rest. Robin’s three shields become skulls, but Joker blocks them.

Round 4: Initiative Bat Cops. Batman uses his Shuriken and misses Harley, but hits Joker for one wound. Robin would hit Joker for two wounds on a full Sock! but Joker laughs off all but one.
Joker uses his Toxin to take out two Beat Cops, then punches Robin for two wounds. Harley can’t finish a Cop.
Batman misses Harley, then hits Joker for a wound, and he laughs off the second. Robin hits Joker for a fifth wound and Joker laughs off the rest.
Joker mind controls Robin with his Toxin, but Robin can’t hit Batman, then Joker can’t hit Robin. Harley takes out the last Cop in the area.
Batman can’t hit Harley. Robin finishes Joker.

Unit Summary: It’s tough, because once Batman falls, he’s hard to activate, and even with a screen of Cops, Batman falls before he does terribly much damage. Still, he was fun, and I don’t expect too much from this version of the character. He could drop a little in points and be fun but he’s not unplayable at his current cost, probably just not really something you’d consider taking competitively without a Gundam.
For Elm Street, the hills were still definite points of contact, with the Inmates coming to the Cop start zone this time, but it didn’t feel unbalanced or like a determining factor.

Unit Summary: Despite their superior range, the Archers struggled to consistently get in wounds since there were spaces in the middle of the map where the Cops could get even height with them. That said, their superior range did make the Cops come to them, and trying to dodge around that and Canary’s domination of the middle of the map felt rough. A faster/more offensively proficient army may have struggled less here.

Crossbones avoids a swipe and double attacks Iron Fist from height, landing two wounds. Red Skull finishes Iron Fist.
Luke Cage punches down on Bane for two wounds.
Crossbones punches Luke for a wound.
Luke Cage punches Bane for a fourth wound.
Crossbones can’t hit Luke Cage.

Unit Summary: Robin was a lot easier to move here and the house and trees along with the Smoke Pellet gave the Crime Fighters plenty of cover to get to the enemy hill without being sniped. Once they got there, though, Red Skull, Crossbones, and Bane were just stronger figures.

For sure. Just finished Red Skull/Bane/Crossbones. Definitely a blow out, but very few attacks from range that ended up hitting, so I feel it was more of a match up thing than a map thing.

Having some 4 height stuff in the middle and a ton of LOS blockers makes the camping height not too bad. Both players could probably turtle if they wanted to, but if one decides to break the lull, then the ranged figures will probably get a turn or two of attacks as the others close the gap.

I'm editing that second test in now. I'm going to do a third for Robin as well, featuring less range.

Overall Look: Looks good. Interesting design. Nice use of houses that I haven't seen on a map before.

Stability: Played on TTS, but looks like it should be solid.

Build difficulty: Played on TTS, looks easy enough to put together.

Size: Feels like its in the sweet spot for 2 or 4 players.

Unit types positively affected: Range has some benefit but there is a fair amount of line of sight blockers. No different than other maps though.

Unit types negatively affected: Could be harder on melee, like typical maps are. Not too much height to slow movement enough.

Key areas on the Map: Center height, start zone height.

Areas not used much or at all: Walking through the houses. Some asphalt areas not used, but not an issue. Between the two games we used almost the whole map.

R4 - Illuminati win init. Dr Strange attacks Super Soldier, its blocked. Super Soldier attacks and kills Black Panther. Super Soldier blocks and attack of 5 skulls by Dr Strange. Agents and Dum Dum put 2 wounds on Dr Strange. Beast attacks Dum Dum, killing him. Dead order Marker 3 on Dum Dum.
R5 - Beast takes a wound from Dr Strange. Thrawn helps win init. Agents miss Dr Strange. Super Solider attacks and kills Beast with 5 skulls to zero shields. Dr Strange moves Super Soldier and an Agent. Thrawn and Agents move. Dr Stange kills Super Soldier. Agents put 1 wound on Dr Strange.
R6 - Dr Strange kills an agent. Agents put 1 wound on Strange. Agent kills Dr Strange for the the win.

R2 - Nico reveals x-marker, attacks and misses Thrawn. Hulkbusters did 2 wounds to Karolina and 1 to old lace. Sgt Rock did 2 wounds to Chase. Chase uses his SA to attack 2 Hulkbusters, killing both. Hulkbusters kill Karolina. Old Lace takes a LEA but puts 4 wounds on Sgt Rock.
R3 - Thrawn and Hulkbusters kill Old Lace and Chase. Gert somehow kills Sgt Rock. Hulkbusters do 3 wounds to Molly. Thrawn does 1 wound to Molly. Gert attacks a Soldier but its blocked. Hulkbuster kills Molly and 2 wounds to Nico.
R4 - Hulkbusters kill Nico and Gert.

Final Thoughts: Played both games with Ericth74. Fun map, bad matches for me in both games. Map didn't really hurt me or help me. I think the height near the start zone could be dropped a level by removing 1 of the 7-hex's. The map played differently both times we playtested it. I've played 3 or 4 other games on here and all gave a different experience. Looking forward to playing it again.

Yeah I think I need to remove a 7 hex of height from the area next to the start zone and a 2 hex level in the other corner of the map, at the end of the road.
