• At the start of your turn, add 1 to the Move and Attack numbers of Shiro and figures you control within 5 clear sight spaces of Shiro until the end of your turn.

THE PRICE OF VICTORY
Once per game, when attacking an adjacent figure with a normal attack with a vehicle named Gundam Ez8 that Shiro is driving, you may add 2 automatic skulls to whatever is rolled. If you do, place 1 Wound Marker on the card of Gundam Ez8.

Pretty solid victory for Team Gundam - they didn't have great efficiency, but Vulcan Counter was able to make up for that a bit. Plus the enemy's big hitters kept messing up attacks against the Blackhawks, which gave the Gundams time to wear them down.

Unit Summary:

• Damage Done (Normal Attack): not used
• Unconventional Warfare: boosted Ez8's and Amuro's Attack numbers several times. D20 boost got him across the line to pull off a Vulcan Counter a couple times
• Price of Victory: not used (but probably should have been in retrospect)
• Damage Taken: annihilated by excess wounds dealt to the Ez8

Spoiler Alert!

Ninja Gundam got out to a huge lead with Shiro boosting the squaddies, but Meteorite swooped in and shut him down for a few turns to buy the T-Bolts some breathing room. They managed to bring down the Gundam and swat all the ninja, starting to turn things around. The endgame came down to a Tomoe vs Citizen V nailbiter. Citizen V eked out the victory.

Unit Summary:

• Damage Done (Normal Attack): not used
• Unconventional Warfare: ohhhh yeah
• Price of Victory: used to attack Meteorite (only netted 1 wound)
• Damage Taken: 3 wounds excess from the Ez8 getting destroyed, polished off by Citizen V

Who won? List figures remaining in the winning army (include life remaining for heroes): Citizen V with 1/5 Life

THOUGHTS ON THE TESTED UNIT'S COST, BALANCE, & DRAFTABILITY: I like that Unconventional Warfare pushes him toward mechs and squaddies; feels on-brand for the Gundam universe (ninja can sub in for any more military-themed mooks for the time being). Pretty potent with squaddies right now since he can boost their attack and they fill out your army without upping your Unique Hero count.

Pre-Game Thoughts/Preview : Two pretty odd little squads, but the idea for Shiro’s team is that the Squadron and Headpool get into positions for Airstrike Spotters, while Bane buffs Ez8’s ranged attacks.

Damage Done (Normal Attack) : N/A
UNCONVENTIONAL WARFARE : The D20 buff didn’t help this game, but the move buff paired nicely with the Blackhawks.
THE PRICE OF VICTORY : Was able to one shot Yondu thanks to this.

ROUND 1 : Pirate initiative.
Mostly some careful movement from both teams. Headpool goes in deep to set up an airstrike that deals 2 wounds on Sabretooth.

ROUND 2 : Pirate initiative.
The fighting starts almost immediately this turn, as Sabretooth moves up and but fails a pounce. The Blackhawks get another airstrike, wounding Sabretooth and killing a Ravager. Sabretooth slices up two of the Blackhawks, and Shiro (inside the Ez responds by taking a wounded Sabretooth out. Headpool takes some focus fire from Yondu and the Ravagers and dies as well.

ROUND 3 : Team Shiro initiative.
Ez8 flies forward and fires at the Ravagers that haven’t moved out of the start zone with Heavy Beam Rifle, and wipes out 3 of them. The last 2 Ravagers do some damage, killing the last Blackhawk and wounding Ez8. The round continues with Ez8 killing one of the Ravagers, but Yondu and his last pirate do some solid wounds.

ROUND 4 : Team Shiro initiative.
Using The Price of Victory, the Ez8 kills Yondu in one big attack. The last Ravager then goes down easily to the gundam. Team Shiro wins!

Who won? List figures remaining in the winning army (include life remaining for heroes): Shiro Amada 4/4 Life, Gundam Ez8 1/5 Life, Bane 6/6 Life

Post-Game Thoughts : Both teams got some serious damage off over the course of the game, but losing Sabretooth fairly early really put the Pirates on the back foot.

Pre-Game Thoughts/Preview : Megatron and Ravage can do some serious damage in one turn, so I think going for a The Price of Victory fairly early for the damage might be useful.

UNCONVENTIONAL WARFARE : Ms. Marvel really appreciated the stat buffs.
THE PRICE OF VICTORY : Used to attack Ravage, helped to deal a wound.

ROUND 1 : Shiro initiative.
Just some movement from both teams.

ROUND 2 : Shiro initiative.
Rogers movies up and fires at Megatron, dealing 1 wound. Soundwave stays in safe location and ejects Ravage, who fires at Rogers and deals 3 wounds. Ez8 takes a potshot at Megatron that fails, then Ms. Marvel wounds Ravage. The round ends with Ravage firing Megatrons Hand Cannon, taking out Rogers.

ROUND 3 : Shiro initiative.
Brutal round that seems both sides take some big wounds. Shiro uses The Price of Victory to try and kill Ravage, but he just deals some wounds. Laserbeak gets Ejected, then he and Megatron deal some big damage to Ms. Marvel. Shiro and Ms. Marvel return the favor by nearly killing Megatron.

ROUND 4 : Decepticon initiative. Soundwave uses Operation: Disruption.
Megatron opens the game with Soundwave firing his Handgun, destroying Ez8 and dealing enough excess wounds to just kill Shiro too. Ms. Marvel puts up a good fight and manages to destroy Megatron in the process, but the combined fire power of Soundwave and Ravage was too much and she falls. Decepticons win!

Who won? List figures remaining in the winning army (include life remaining for heroes): Soundwave 6/7 Life, Laserbeak 4/4 Life, Ravage 3/5 Life

Post-Game Thoughts : I think the Decepticon army is really strong against certain comps, and this was one of them. Rogers was gunned down by a big Ravage roll and although Ez8 + Ms. Marvel have some strong firepower, Operation: Disruption really hurt what synergy Shiro’s team had.

Thoughts on the Tested Unit's Cost, Balance, and Draftability : 120 feels right. I don't think I used Unconventional Warfare as well as I could have, but it's a really solid power that makes Shiro into a nice support piece when he's paired with other heavy hitters or vehicle drivers.

General Thoughts on the Tested Unit : Both powers are super thematic and feel perfect for Shiro. His limited synergies make army building a little tough, but Shiro + Ez8 makes for a solid chunk of points by themselves.

Fun design, loved hanging back blasting until it felt like the right time to go in with The Price of Victory.

I think I'm content with where he is. I think the buff on the squads is fine as is, it's not overpowered. I think if he had more synergy with them, maybe... but we are more than likely a long way away from that.

I guess the only potential issue with his power is that if we ever designed the rest of his squad, he wouldn't really work with them. But I think the odds of all of them being designed is pretty low anyway.

I agree, the odds of us designing the rest of his squad is slim. If we do though, his power should still work with them, adding 1 to their Gundam's move and attack.
