Re: The C3G Cave - Hangout
Nice! I know making the weekly commute to the comic store to buy floppies isn't for everyone, but I love it. I was happy I made the transition to reading comics that way.
I've been buying a lot of back-issues out of the dollar bins lately. Been building up my Thunderbolts collection (I'm about halfway to a complete run, discounting the Marvel NOW! "Thunderbolts" with Red Hulk and co), and I've started reading 52, since my friends recommended that as a good starting point for DC. Also picked up a few stray issues of Rucka's second Detective Comics run, starring Batwoman. Really liked the character in 52, and Rucka + J.H. Williams III is a no-brainer. |

Re: The C3G Cave - Hangout
I love having a pull list at my local comic store. And just as soon as I get a full-time job again, I'll be doing that again!
C3G can be played with official Heroscape, but it's not recommended.

Re: The C3G Cave - Hangout
I wish I had a local comic store but, living out in the boonies as I am, the closest one is about an hour away, and not in a direction I go very often. I've been buying digital for years now and have totally adjusted. I actually like reading floppies in a digital format. I can but on my time, there are no ads, costs are often cheaper, and (best of all) I don't have to find a place to store them. Still prefer reading trades and GNs in physical format.
I haven't read beyond Rucka's run, but his Batwoman stuff is fun. Of course, Williams's art makes it so much better. ".... the Cambridge ladies do not care, above Cambridge if sometimes in its box of sky lavender and cornerless, the moon rattles like a fragment of angry candy" |

Re: The C3G Cave - Hangout
See, I can't justify spending the same prices for digital content. $4 to read a 20-page story doesn't cut it for me - I can buy entire books for $4. But to read a story and collect the physical books... I dunno, that feels more worth it to me.
Even 99 cents for a digital copy feels like too much to me. Marvel Unlimited and Humble Bundles have spoiled me. JOHNNY139'S CLASSIC CUSTOM THREAD! | Visit now!

Re: The C3G Cave - Hangout
I have that "no local comic store" issue back home, but fortunately I'm more conveniently situated at college.

Like I said though, living where I live doesn't give me an option. It's digital or trade-wait, and there's something I like about reading monthly, at least for certain books. Yeah storage is definitely an issue for me....
