Story Card (Power Set) Brainstorms

Notice: This is just an idea I had and not an official C3G thing, so if the Heroes wanna put the kibosh on this thread, no harm done. :P

What would we think about using the Event cards to rope in the Throwing and Knockback Rules?

Itd be really cool if these rules could be used more often in game, but its a good amount to add for a general rule and theyre not really costed with the current game.
I was thinking basically expandable, draftable POWER SETS that could be used to add more flair to the game, but costed so it doesnt show up all the time. There are tons of special powers that group figures that could be keyed into, and we sort of have established precedents with Spell cards for Magical Defense characters and Constructs for Green Lanterns. These would just be additional powers that you can draft into the game with your characters.

Anyone whos played the Ultimate Alliance or the new Spider-Man games Im sure could see a ton of fun additional powers sets for some characters. And with only about three powers that can fit on a card, while the different versions of the characters are tackled, it might be fun to have some general effects unique to these kinds of characters to tack on if you want.

Things that could be done so that its not game breaking:

- They could also be each assigned to a hero/army card, basically Uncommon version of Event/Scenario/Story/whatever cards.

- Unlike rules, and more similar to Spell cards, to be costed effectively, these could be more temporary and less static effects. Possibly limited to once per round or once per game or what have you and we may even reach the fabled 5 cost card.
edit: Something like Knockback could be once per, but things involving DOs might need to be whole game powers to be worth drafting.

Also, to make sense why they don't just have it to begin with, youd need a good title to justify it theme-wise. For example an SS related power (throwing or knockback) could be called Adrenaline Boost or Enraged.

Place the chosen destructible object adjacent to that Web Slinger. Roll an unblockable attack die against all figures adjacent to that Web Slinger.
fun for grabbing a small DO (Manhole Cover) and hitting everyone around
Web Slinger might need a rename, due to the Spidey card power

I think this is a great use of Event Cards / Story Cards / whatever we call them. I do think stuff like Throwing and Knockback Cards would be reasonably expensive, just because they give a major boost to Super Strength figures (while normally Super Strength is only flavor text so it doesn't impact cost).

I've brainstormed a "Beam Struggle" Event Card in-sanctum that's similar in theme to what you're describing here. Basically a power up that only affects certain figures if you fulfill the draft conditions.

Yeah, I think this is a great use and as long as things are properly costed, I can't see a problem approaching things this way. I think it's a great way to take those rules sets and update them to make them relevant to modern C3G much like we overhauled the vehicle rules to make them draftable first and then to let you have vehicles that attack.

C3G can be played with official Heroscape, but it's not recommended.
