This is it. The fan fiction you have been waiting for, even though it's not the one you requested (I'll get to that, don't worry - plans are in motion).
There were some delays in getting this posted. They involved miraculous healing, attempts at deception which had to be unknown both by the deceived and the deceiver (try figuring that one out), and nine foot tall allies.
And indents. I believe I have found a way, at last, to post with indents. Why it is so important that we do so, I have no idea, but the issue is really getting to me. If I am correct, we should be able to embed a Google doc, thus overwriting the limitations of bbcode. IF the admins could turn on the bbcode to embed Google docs. (*cough*) Still waiting for a reply on that one. In the meantime, I will have to revert to TAF's very laborious but still effective method.
Ahem. Let us begin.

_____And here we are again. If the past few months have taught me anything, it’s to not rely on anything I say. I said I needed to work on my novels. I worked on one, then switched to a different one, then back to the first, then redid the whole lot, and then back to fan fiction. At least the latter endeavor panned out.
_____This won’t be my last fan fiction, either. There are still a few things I need to learn about writing, and fan fiction is just too perfect a medium to pass up. This particular fan fiction focused on a new method of forming the plot. Finally: a way to bring everything together into a coherent timeline. Success!
_____Along with the plot, I really wanted to try writing with twists baked in. That still needs a little refinement, but it did make for a tale full of unexpected turns. I even managed to surprise myself with the direction things took sometimes.
_____But onto the story behind this tale. This is a standalone fan fiction, not related to any of my other works. It takes place on Valhalla, a good many years and several generations after the start of the war, which still rages across the land. That’s really all you need to know. I tried to keep the backstory simple for those of you reading this who are not originally from Heroscapers.
_____Speaking of readers, thanks is in order. Especially to three individuals: BiggaBullfrog, William099, and TheAverageFan.
_____Bigga continues to be my invaluable proofreader. He goes above and beyond simple corrections, offering me his own insights on how the stories played out, the writing, and more. Many a tale wouldn’t be in the condition it is today without his help.
_____William099 remains my most loyal reader (honestly I don’t know what that means, since ‘loyal’ doesn’t have much context here). You might think the reader is at the bottom of the list in appreciation, compared to beta-readers and proofreaders, but it’s quite the opposite. Without the continued support of my readers, I wouldn’t get fired up about writing. I wouldn’t get excited to keep going. I wouldn’t be writing this right now. It’s that simple.
_____TheAverageFan is anything but average. Not only is he one of my readers, he is an excellent writer as well. I fully expect to see him publishing novels one day (not kidding there; you and I are on the same level here). His continued support and constant enthusiasm keeps me going. He’s often the only one watching the progress while I write my fan fictions, before posting them.
_____I also have to thank the community of HSers at large for being such a great place for me to train myself. Without you, I would never have become the writer I am today. Thanks also goes to my family and friends, who provide – knowingly or not – support, inspiration, and the foundation I need to be able to write at all. Thank you.
_____And now, it’s time for this tale to get under way. Be sure to post a comment, telling me what you think, and offering criticism. Criticism of any kind is highly valuable to me, as it will only serve to make me a better writer. If there’s something you didn’t like, say so. And no beating around the bush; just tell me. I want to hear it (I also want to hear it if there’s anything you did like).
_____So on that note, I give you… wait… I seriously waited until now to pick out a title? Wow. That’s a first.
_____Well, enjoy it anyway, whatever it ends up being called.
