Here is the new design for the Bespin Carbon Freeze Chamber



Set Requirements
2 FOTA
1 Marvel
1 BFTU

I have play tested 6 games on this one and it is pretty cool. Some would say carbon frozen.
I have special rules for the carbon freeze chamber tiles(shadow tiles)
At the end of the round, all figures on those tiles roll the 20 sided die.
1-4 nothing happens
5-13 1 wound
14-19 2 wounds
20- or higher destroy the figure.

Special Rules
-Figures cannot jump or fly over walls or voids. Figures cannot shoot over voids.
-The castle doors are not to be used on this map.
-Road tile bonus is not used in this map.
In the center of the freeze chamber will be a Han Solo treasure glyph for the scenario that will come with. Basically whomever can carry the glyph back to their start zone and control it there at the end of the round wins.

The dots are all represent the same DO objects as the dots in the Bespin landing platform map. The Cyan dot is a bacta tank. After you guys look this over, I'll make a new thread for it.

What I can see of it in the picture looks pretty neat and similar enough to how I envision the freezing chamber. I'll take a closer look at the VS file later.

Its actually quite fun, sturdy, easy to build, and has a few different scenarios that can be put in there along with being competitive.

Hey guys, I got to thinking about different approaches we could go about getting this project back in action.
-First up, lets get this BOSS Battlefront Idea Implemented into pre existing maps that can handle the format. The latest version is pretty solid and just needs a little testing to solidify where its at.
-Second, we could hold a contest driven by community participation with different starwars locales done by movie title. Examples would be Map Contest: Revenge of the Sith. In this we could allow locales such as kashyyk, coruscant, mygeeto, utapau or mustafar. Or even more so, we could just have the contest be one of those and judge it off of theme, balance, etc.(Much like the other contests I'm involved in,except for its starwars style) If you guys like this idea, we can present it to an admin and we can get it rolling. I have been discussing other types of contests/draw ideas with the HOSS team in which we will have a prize draw for play testers. Even though I haven't posted many of them before giving them away, I've made some cool star wars themed dice rollers, custom dice, etc. I would like to get the maps that are still in design to be finished up first. Two of them come to mind. They are both by me. Jedi Temple of Coruscant, and Carbon Freeze Chamber. Feel free to throw ideas at me, and lets get our BOSS on. I also have a pretty sweet setup in the works for the BATTLE OF MYGEETO. Includes the bridge that the infamous conehead jedi died on from the betrayal of the Galactic marines and commander bacara on the Order 66 initiative.

How many different contests are you thinking? I kind of like the idea of presenting a limited number of planets to choose from and then seeing what people come up with for those locales. It is easier to compare the entries submitted if they are covering the same ground. I'm just not sure I want to limit by movie since there are so many movies now with more on the way.

Yeah, the details are up for discussion. Matter of fact, I would love a discussion on this. I would like to give people a couple of planets to choose from per contest. Then we can judge them as boss members to get them down to a certain number of maps using a point system, to be voted on by the public. I can help supply prizes for this effort. This would get the community more involved, we all have some fun, and then we have some cool maps to add to the archives. If some of them are good but need a little tweaking we can do that as well.

Completely agree with the idea.

For me it depends on the line we want to follow. Are we aiming in a thematic maps release or not ? If so, the choose planets will be driven by this objective. If not, I would consider getting 2 planets to chose from, giving a list of events that occurred on them (just to help people and their inspiration). More would result in too much styles of maps and thus a hard work to compare them.

The last format with both a scenario and a competitive category seems nice to distinguish maps IMO.
