FREE COMIC BOOK DAY WAS GOOD TO ME!!

I hit 4 different comic stores.

Here is what I got for figures:
War Machine Promo x6
Batman Promo x2 (Fig I used for Bat Lantern)
Wolverine Promo x4 (Fig used for C3G Wolverine 2 white, 2 black)
Ragnarok Surtur (Buy the Brick)
Vlad The Impaler (Horrorclix promo)

Some of friends made out better than I, nabbing the contents from the Hammer of Thor Prize Kits.

That guy was totally BS'ing you, or else he was horrifically misinformed. They might have payed $5 for shipping, but they were giving them to the stores in bags of 50.

That said, all the store I visited New England Comics, Temptations, New Berry Comics, and Over the Edge, had free comics and clix, although some of them only had War Machine. Two of them had tons of free books, and two of them had a 2 foot tall stack of free books. The ones with fewer free books had the more varied selection of Heroclix.

So I took my son to a comic book store here on Long Island for free comic book day and as we are nabbing some free books and clix figures who should walk in the store but none other than Dee Snider of Twisted Sister. It was one of those bizarre moments that life just throws at you now and then. I gave him a thumbs up when he look our way and he smiled. Come to find out his son, Jesse Blaze Snider, was there signing autographs. He's been writing comics in the "Toy Story" universe. Pretty cool.

Well my shop just called me a little bit ago and they found the figures. I guess they were under a table where any of us should have seen them. So now I get to go and get my two figures now.

If anyone is willing to trade me a War Machine promo clix, I'd be much obliged. I didn't get a chance to hit any of my local comic book shops because I went wine tasting with my wife in Southern California. Oh the things I do to a good husband.

Sorry, Balantai, I'd be happy to, but I just sent my two out to Cavalier and McCrimson today.
