Re: The Book of Xundar
Those of us with OCD about protecting the game's structure appreciate your willingness to consider it.
It's easy to understand how a case like this could slip by, what with the term shadow now having competing contexts of both a terrain type and a species. Good traders: tdemirji, AbsintheAddict, Blubberguy22, Toa Matoro, SuperSamyon, Bl1ndsn1per, Ericth74,

Re: The Book of Xundar
This change might be drastic.... but what about to change the "Shadow" species to "Umbra" ?
This solves the dual significance of "Shadow" over the rules and thus solves everything and still keeping the naming of "xxx Master" for the controlling power like Kurrok. |

Re: The Book of Xundar
Or you could just change the name of the power to "Master of Shadows". It still achieves the same purpose as the current name - conveying the fact that Xundar is the leader of the Shadow faction - whilst not stepping on the toes of any pre-established power names and also being a very minor change overall. "Master of Shadows" is definitely a slightly clunkier name overall than "Shadow Master", however it does have an advantage in that calling him the "Master of" something makes it more clear that the power is referring to him as the leader of a certain class of units (who happened to be called "Shadows"); it's less likely to get confused with shadow tiles. Ultimately there are a few different ways you could change the name of the power though (something like "Shadow Commander" would also work well); "Master of Shadows" is by no means the only option.

I have to admit this is way better and simpler than changing Shadow to Umbra. Last edited by DanieLoche; August 2nd, 2021 at 04:25 AM. |

Re: The Book of Xundar
I like Master of Shadows. It matches Kurrok (Master of the Elements) and Talingul (Master of Great Constructs).
