Superhero RPG setting thread
It's Earth like you know it but not quite. Yeah, we got New York and Los Angeles in the USA and there's still pyramids in Egypt, Stonehenge in Britain, and the Great Wall of China is still in... well, you get the idea. It's mostly all the same. But the differences....

We have supers. A lot of them. Heroes and villains and inbetween. Aliens and sorcerers too! And technology might not be what you're used to. We have mad scientists and some sane scientists making amazing devices.

You may have glimpsed our world if you've read a comic book or seen a movie based on one. Don't look too hard for internal logic. The pages are glossy for a reason.

I like this as a setting. I don't know what you're cooking up for a campaign, Q, but I'd install whatever pieces you need around this idea, and see where it leaves you.

I don't have anything to add, unless you want opinions about specific ideas. I think this is a great place to start.

We have a van, certainly there should be some road trips. Maybe a car chase? A trail we have to follow? A mystery to unravel?

Not my place to say - not part of the main group - but I'm thinking it might be interesting to start in/explore as a base a real city other than New York in superhero story for a change. Given your characters backstories, I'm assuming you'll be wanting to use the U.S. as your base, but maybe somewhere like Washington D.C., Seattle, San Francisco etc. - somewhere that isn't New York.

Somewhere with good mass transit, please. I'm happy to roll up in the van when we need to, but I don't think anybody treated independent motorized transportation as something we would need for our own characters.
