Re: Kickstarter: What game(s) are you currently Kickstarting

Previously backed and received:

Tooth & Nail Factions
Flash Point Fire Rescue 2nd Floor and Urban Structures expansions
Police Precinct

To be delivered soon (like next week) from Small Box Games:

Stone & Relic
Shadows of the Sun

Newly pledged to and should get in May:

Sergeant's Miniatures Game - Red Devils set

The Red Devils set, along with other offerings to go with it will expire tomorrow night. There was a flurry of activity recently to put it over the $80K mark and lot's of extra free stuff due to the higher pledge levels.

The base set @ $90
  • 10 pre-painted miniatures and cards for Sergeants and Private soldiers
  • 160 coated playing cards
  • 6 missions
  • 18 tiles for terrain and landmarks, which can make a mapboard 20" by 30" large, or be put together in smaller configurations.
  • Rulebook, plastic movement/sighting player aids, and everything you need to get started!
  • Red Devils is a "Story," which includes everything you need for a 2-player game. Additional figures can be added to make this a 3 or 4 player game
Extra stuff included in the base set now that won't be in the base set later:

There are like 10 more scenarios/missions. 6 more from one pledge level and 4 more from another pledge level.

8 German and 8 British Equipment cards.

10 Minefield pieces that sit on top of the map tiles and will cause risk to pass through or use specialist to get through safely.

8 Extra cards to one of the British Characters to make him able to be a Combat Engineer. Maybe he can get you through the minefield.

8 Extra cards to a German to make him able to be a Skirmisher like the new Dreher and Maier character cards.

5 Shell hole (craters) that sit on the map and add cover and hinder movement etc.

8 Pieces of rubble that sit on the map and block area and maybe provide cover

2 Guest Star characters that are civilian minis with cards to add to the story deck and they can come up during a cause and effect situation and add to the game story by interacting with the soldiers.

8 extra 5" map tiles and 1 extra 10" landmark with 16 extra story cards. (basically enough to make bigger maps like some found in expansions).

1 British and 1 German Character from the base set will now come with a medal each, upgrading them to better leaders.

Also, at the pledge level I'm at, I'll be getting even more Minefields, Craters and Rubble pieces, as well as the Game Master's Kit which normally sells for $30.

Considering the other Kickstarters I've participated in and have seen, this by far his given the most free good stuff to those with just the base level pledge. Sure it's $90, but that base set without the extra stuff will still cost $90 later, and there is no online retailer that will knock 30% off the price later as happens sometimes with other kickstarter projects.

Zombicide: Season 2 Kickstarter is here! Already over $560K in 18 hours or so. I backed this at the fugitive level because you can never have enough zombies.

Between akden, G-O, and Jbbnsmith, we could arrange for a Kickstarter support group after the next tournament...

Re: Kickstarter: What game(s) are you currently Kickstarting

Just got Shadow of the Sun and Stone & Relic from Small Box Games that I kickstarted in October. Did some dry runs to get the rules and mechanics down. Hope to play at least one of them tomorrow at game night.

Re: Kickstarter: What game(s) are you currently Kickstarting

Sadly, I was sucked into the Fugitive level Zombicide as well. Wild West Exodus is going to be the one that puts my problem on the radar with my better half. My pledge is already over 1k and there are over 2 weeks left.

Ouch, I'm definitely not that far into my addiction yet (or is that the denial talking? ). My wife "overlooks" my spending here and there, but she would definitely notice that one.

I did the whole Kickstarter package for Small Box Games last time, which makes me three for three for John Clowdus' Kickstarter projects. I just received those two games and the Valkyrie Incident, as well. I played through a few solo rounds of Stone and Relic, and that looks to be pretty fun. I'd be interested in your impressions after your game night.

Well I'm hoping to get it in tomorrow night. I know there was already requests for Descent, Spartacus, Tammany Hall and Power Grid, amongst others. Last Monday night we had a record 24 people show up for a week night (have gotten over 30 on all day Saturday events). So if we get anywhere that many, I should be able to get a 2 or 3 of them to try out Stone and Relic. I did a full 3 player solo game this morning and it was cool in the different avenue to get points. Cities are huge at the end and add up a good bit toward your wealth and influence. Getting a Castle surrounded by 4 Cities is nice! It took awhile to play, but I'm sure that's because I was playing 3 different hands and trying to figure things out at the same time as far as combos. Getting those free extra actions is nice from spells, but you have to keep track of them, though that's not unlike the game Last Will.

I think Shadow of the Sun will be the easiest to teach. It's pretty straight forward, but it will be a neat one that has that "take that" element that many of my group enjoys. I also like the bluffing aspect of it. I did a 3 player solo dry run yesterday, though Legion Building doesn't translate as well solo since you know what the other Legions that are being built. But it seems fun too. Hopefully that will hit the game table soon too.

I didn't order the Valkyrie Incident because it's a 2 player game and I already have trouble getting the ones I already have to the table. The group usually plays 3+ player games, but occasionally there are dead times for a couple players between games or after someone leaves to get a 2 player game in. My 17 year-old nephew used to be my go-to 2 player game buddy, but since he started working and having a girlfriend, ol' uncle Greg got kicked to the curb except for maybe once every couple months. But I look forward to hearing how you like Valkyrie Incident.

Re: Kickstarter: What game(s) are you currently Kickstarting

I jumped on the Early Bird Inmate level for Zombicide 2. This one has been crazy so far. I think I may wait and order Toxic City Mall online at a discount rather than pay the full $50 for that one.

And I don't have a Kickstarter problem, DS. I could quit any time I want to. In fact, I passed on Guns of Gettysburg, even though I love both Napoleon's Triumph and Boneparte at Marengo. See, I can handle it. I can handle it.
