Hexicon Heroscape Event Schedule (US Eastern Time)

Wednesday Event Hours: (April 19th)
-12 PM to 9 PM: Map Construction / Casual Gaming for Early Arrivals

Thursday & Friday Event Hours: (April 20th & 21st)
-11 AM: Doors Open
-12 PM to 4PM: Rounds 1-4
-4 PM to 5 PM: Dinner

General Event Rules:
-Each Event (Aside from Main Event) is 4 Rounds. All games are 55 minutes.
-Time Remaining is called at 15 mins and 5 minutes.
-When 5 mins is called, TO will also call on players to finish the same numbered Order Marker.
-Any figures that do not start the game on the battlefield (such as Airborne Elite) still count towards your figure limit.
-Partial Card Scoring if games go to time. Use Heroscape.org to determine points.
-Player cap for most events, but if there is enough demand for one event over another then Player Caps can be adjusted. (Waitlist)
-Players are welcome to Open Gaming anytime, provided there’s space in the store. Listed times of Non-Scape Gaming are for reference/reminder.

Prizes:
-Prizes for each event! Winner and Second Place at minimum. Top 8 in Main Event.
-Participation Prizes: 8 Alt Arts, Folding Dice Tray Style and Color of Player’s Choice
-Other Prizes: Dice, 11 oz Mugs, Heroscape terrain and figures.
-More Prizes TBA.

Thursday Afternoon Events (12 to 4 PM)
Organizers: David Becker

Insanity of Battle:
-20 player cap
-475 pts, 18 figure limit. No A+ Units! (Raelin RotV, Major Q9, Deathreavers, Marro Warriors, or Isamu)
-If you choose to play an army that has more than 18 figures, you will decide which figures will not be placed prior to army placement.
-Players roll for placement choice, winner decides to place first or defer.
-Players will take turns placing a card's worth of figures (yours OR your opponent's) ANYWHERE on the map.
-You may not place figures on glyphs, adjacent to enemy figures, or on molten lava.
-When placing squads, each squad figure placed that turn must be within three clear sight spaces of all other squad figures placed that turn.
-After all units are placed, place OMs and roll for initiative as normal.

Thursday Evening (5 to 9 PM)

Pick Your Poison:
-20 player cap
-Players bring 2 armies at 440 pts, 18 figure limit. These armies cannot share any figures. No A+ Units! (Raelin RotV, Major Q9, Deathreavers, Marro Warriors, or Isamu)
-Players assign their Armies as #1 and #2. At the start of each match, players will secretly choose which of their opponent’s armies they will play against that game. They will simultaneously reveal a 1 or 2 OM to denote if they are playing against their opponent’s Army #1 or #2.

Friday Afternoon (12 to 4 PM)

Delta Pod Draft:
-20 player cap
-Bring 3 army pods, each between 175-200 pts and 10 figure limit. Armies cannot share figures. Delta Pricing.
-Each match, both player’s army pods are combined into a 6 army pod. Players will dice off to determine who decides who will pick first or second.
-First Choice gets to select 1 of the 6 pods. Second Choice gets to select 2 of the remaining 5 pods. The First Choice then selects 1 of the remaining 3 pods. Players then combine their 2 drafted pods into one army and begin their match.



Friday Evening (5 to 9 PM)
Organizers: David Becker

Classic Draft:
-425 pts, 18 figure limit after drafting. No A+ Units! (Raelin RotV, Major Q9, Deathreavers, Marro Warriors, or Isamu)
-Players bring 10 cards of units to draft. Each unit of common figures counts as a card. (i.e. 2 squads of 4th Mass count as 2 cards.) Bring at least 2 cards of your common units in case both players draft the same common unit.
-Players pool their 10 cards into a combined 20 card draft.
-Players Roll off to determine draft order. Winner decides to draft first or second. First draft is 1 card of units, then the rest of the draft is 2 cards of units, until players reach the point/figure limit. Figures are placed on the board as they are drafted.

Saturday Afternoon (12 to 5 PM)
Organizers: Sheep

Main Event:
-40 player cap
-Delta VC Rule of 11. 510 pts, 18 figure limit.
-4 Rounds & Top 4 Cut.
-Delta points. VC units allowed, Max of 11 of the same figures allowed in-game.
–(i.e. You bring 3x 4th Mass, you’ll have to drop 1 figure to max at 11 4th Mass in your army.)

Flex Tourney:
-400 pts, 16 figure limit.
-Untimed games, play as many games as you wish until the Main Event wraps up. Earn one point for each game played and one point for each game won against different opponents. At the end of the event, 2 players will win a prize based on a point-weighted raffle system. You may change your army between games.



Saturday Evening (6 PM to 12 AM)
Organizers: Sheep
Main Event Top Cut:
-Top 4 Cut = 2 Rounds.
-Players removed from Top Cut earn byes into the Singleton event.

Singleton:
-425 pts, 16 figure limit.
-Your army may not include more than one (1) copy of any army card.

Open Gaming:
-Bring other games to play! Store closes at 12 AM on Saturdays, so extended time to play games after the Main Event if players don’t want to play in Singleton and/or are eliminated from Top Cut.

Sunday Afternoon (12 to 4 PM)
Organizers: Sheep

Temp Alliance Team Tournament
-205 pts, 10 figure limit. VC Allowed. No A+ Units! (Raelin RotV, Major Q9, Deathreavers, Marro Warriors, or Isamu)
-Your Ally one game may be your Opponent the next!
-Each Game, you will be randomly assigned a teammate with an opposing record when possible. (1-0 paired with 0-1, etc.) Win or lose together, you’ll score the same as teammates!
-Before each game, players will roll a d20 to determine player order. The order will stay the same the entire match, just who wins initiative and takes the first turn will change.
-In the event of an odd number of players, there will be an extra army provided for that player. They will place a second set of OMs for that second army as if they are another player.

Is this an "actual" gaming Convention like GenCon? or is this a Heroscape based Convention like ScapeCon?

I don't see any details on location for example. Not sure I'd be able to attend anyway, but I am curious as I wouldn't mind announcing it on my channel and or letting any nearby friends know.

Multiverse of Madness FAQs:

Q: Tarn Vikings Berserker Charge: How many get to move?
A: Only the 4 you already moved, not all of them.

Q: Airborne Elite: The Drop.
A: You roll for each squad separately, and if successful place 4 of them before you roll again. And yes, all of them start off the battlefield.

Multiverse of Madness has so many insane options. Here are some with also some questions:

• Obvious choices are KMA or Nakitas, but maybe add in a 1-2 Laglor's to boost their range by 2-4. I actually suggest banning doubling up on Laglor's aura as that is ridiculously OP especially in combination with KMA/Nakitas as common squads, as 3x KMA and 2x Laglor could just strafe and fire from 11 away all day.
• Multiple of any unique squad would be fun - Ninjas of the Northern Wind, Tarn Viking Warriors, Airborne Elite, even Zettian Guards, Sentinels of Grax
• Multiple Haducs or Venoc Warlords and some Aubrien Archers or Elite Onyx Vipers. Also I assume both the scout leadership and frenzy enhancement can be doubled up.
• Multiple Su-Bak-Na's and Ne-Gok-Sa's or Kee-Mo-Shi's (so many units to Mind Shackle) Q: Can you mindshackle a "unique squads" or are they now all considered Common squads?
• Wildwoods with 2 Monarchs
• Hatamoto Taro and a bunch of Izumi, Kozuke or Tagawa Samurai Q: How do we keep track of experience markers - can they all be on the same card or do we have to keep track of each squad?
• Multiple B-11 Resistance Corps or Varkaanan Quickblades. I am assuming we can go by oldschool rule where each common unit (in this case unique) has it's own card but does that mean I can choose which squad/card each unit is from both in death and life?
• Multiple Ebon Armor and multiple Airborne or KMA. Q: Are now all unique squads considered common so now actually Ebon Armor can't even go on them?
• Iskra and a bunch of Rechets. Q: I am assuming you can have one Iskra summon multiple squads of Rechets
• Multiple Cypriens and multiple Sonya's Q: Can Cypren can have multiple wives and they all be a in a polyamorous relationship, or do they need to be 1-to-1 and kept track of who is with who. Would be amazing if all Sonyas boost all Cyprens - extra strength but also extra heartbreak.
• Q: For Greenscales LOYALTY TO THE LIZARD KING
  "At the start of the game, choose a Unique Lizardfolk or Dragon Hero you control..." does this have to be one of the figures or all if you have multiple copies. Multi-dragon bonding would be crazy fun.

Thank you for all of these breakdowns, it looks like there's a simpler way to keep this Multiverse of Madness from getting too mad. Also note, no VC is allowed in this event.

For Greenscales, the Unique Dragons become Uncommon, so the Greens only bond with one of them.
Sonya x5, Cyprien x2 sounds outright terrifying to try to take down, so I'm banning Sonya.


Multiverse of Madness:
-525 pts, 18 figure limit.
-Treat all Unique Heroes and Squads as Uncommon. Uncommon units need to keep track of their OMs on separate cards, and for squads which figures came from which card. Common units are treated as Unique. Stickers for Uncommon units will be provided.
-If you have questions about how to treat abilities due to these changes, please ask before the event. (For example, Tarn Viking’s Berserker Charge only works on the 4 that moved that turn.)
-Clarifications can be found here: Link
-Isamu, Marro Warriors, Major Q9, Taelord, Laglor, Uglinesh, Sonya, and both Raelins are Banned.

I though the major advantage of making unique squads to common squads was reinforcements when hey die, but making them "uncommon squads" kind of nerfs that so now don't see a real advantage to having more than one squad in most circumstances. However allowing as common squads does bring up a lot more questions for certain figures so understand the decisions.

Also maybe for your "ban list" instead of outright banning some of them just ban them from doubling up - specifically allow one each of Laglor, Ulginesh, Sonya, and Taelord. The other units I understand you are at the same time trying to remove all the A+ units to get more units some play, which again I get.

Also some additional questions still:

Well, it looks like it's not going to matter much anyways, the votes are heavily in favor of the Delta Pod Draft right now.
