Darth Vader

Ever notice that Darth Vader in the SW movies is the lamest excuse for a Jedi/Sith

Who he loses to: Obi wan, Dooku, Luke (who learns to be a Jedi master from a book)

Who he beats:Sand people, Separatist leaders, Children Jedi, his wife, Obi wan(only because he gives up), Luke (after a whole 3 days of Jedi training) and The Emperor (in an amazing display of The Force and Jedi skill) and a butt load of droids (and who hasn't) Edit: Mace Windu gets a boot out a window.

So in conclusion Darth Vader is a glorified abusive husband/father minus the wife beater t-shirt.

...and then he used his fight money to buy two of every animal, and then he herded them all onto a boat and then he beat the crap out every single one.

Agreed, and I always thought Obi-Wan was under rated.

I find your lack of fear in our Dark Lord of the Sith... disturbing.

Agreed...Vader is by far the best villain of all time. True he might get his butt handed to him by his farmer turned jedi son, but you can't deny that he looks bad-ass and if I could choose any of the Star Wars characters as a favorite I'd definately choose him.

Force Unleashed (coming out this summer) will hopefully show Vader kicking some butt.

Also, Vader's fights in the movies were hampered by Lucas' insistence that the "laser swords" be considered heavy, two-handed weapons. The cool lightsabre fight scenes were apparently saved for the prequels.

Darth Vader has undeniable power. David Prowse, the actor who played Vader, is said to have been really deep in the role--sometimes the other actors wondered if he really thought he was Darth Vader!

He was nearly burnt to death. He also has no lower legs, and is half machine in addition to having a very stressful desk job. Cut him some slack. Jeez.

I heard him talk on the radio whe Episode 2 or 3 was about to come out. He had some very bitter things to see about the whole experience, and about a jibe about "the Jar-Jar Binks character." He wasn't happy that they didn't use his voice in the movies. I have also heard that he was the leak that was giving away storylines. I wonder where you heard the bit you stated above, about how deep he was in the role? I would enjoy reading the article.
