Champions of Valhalla

When little Petey Henderson received the boardgame Swarm of the Marro for his birthday, he was excited. But he had no idea he was really receiving a powerful weapon. That realization came a week later, while Petey and his family were taking a trip to visit relatives in New York.

The plane was crowded and Petey's parents were sleeping. Petey was playing with his favorite characters from his new game. He was flying the action figures around his seat, making gun and magic bolt noises, mowing down imaginary Marro, when he inadvertantly threw Sgt. Drake Alexander and hit a fellow passenger in the head. That passenger was not amused. He drew a gun.

Turns out, that passenger was really a Hydra Agent, and little Petey's plane was targeted by the criminal organization for hijacking. The upset agent grabbed little Petey's toy and tried to make the boy cry by crushing it.

That's when Petey discovered his Heroscape figures were not toys. They were actually powerful magical artifacts from the extra-dimensional world of Valhalla. When squeezed, they summoned the very creatures they represented to Petey's own time and space.

First Sgt. Drake Alexander arrived, using his Thorian blade to disarm the Hydra bully. When Petey realized what was happening, he squeezed his other figures: Major Q10, Raelin and Sonlen. Soon the Hydra Agents were defeated and the plane was safe. Before it landed, however, all four extra-dimensional heroes disappeared, returning to Valhalla.

Eye-witnesses described the heroes to a fascinated press and a new Superhero group was born: the Champions of Valhalla. Little did anyone know that the power of the group was wielded by an eight-year old boy: little Petey Henderson.

Now Petey summons the heroes to fight villainy everywhere. Sgt. Drake Alexander, the de-facto leader of the band of extra-dimensional heroes, doesn't mind. Petey has a good and pure heart. But he and the other Champions worry that if Petey's game figures were magical artifacts, there might be others out in the world, as well. Sgt. Drake Alexander is preparing his troops for a new war back on earth: a war against the dreaded Marro.
