[Orcs Blade]

Well, after a long period of in-activeness, I decided to start on my sequel to Kit: Young Ninja. So, without further ado, here is the story of Kit's quest for revenge.

Chapter 1

Daniel, trained to notice anything and everything unusual, was the only one who noticed the stranger slip in. Daniel was sitting in a corner of the pub, sipping his wine and watching the rowdy patrons in the dim lighting. At five-foot eleven, with brown hair and brown eyes, he was extremely nondescript. Nothing about him was memorable. But then, in his business, it was best to be forgotten. He was one of Vydar’s elite, a Krav Maga Agent. Being accepted into the Krav Maga was the dream of every schoolboy in Vydar’s rapidly dwindling realm. Daniel had only recently accomplished this dream, passing the exams and being the only one out of twenty hopefuls chosen. Naturally, he was proud of his accomplishment, but that was rapidly driven off. Pride is an emotion. Krav Maga don’t have emotions. He had been scouting pubs around the city of Rho III, looking for a henchman of a major drug lord who had moved to the area recently. This man who had just slipped in could be the one he was looking for.
Standing up easily, he walked casually over to the bar where the stranger had sat down. The stranger wore all black, including a mask which covered the stranger’s entire head, allowing only one lock of jet black hair to escape. The clothes were flat against the hard, compact body, with no revealing bumps that might conceal a weapon, save two intricately designed katanas strapped to the man’s back. Daniel took this all in as he dropped down next to the stranger. “Buy you a drink?” He suggested.
The stranger looked around slowly, “You could.” The response contained no emotion whatsoever.
Becoming more sure that this was his man, Daniel told the bartender to get them two whiskeys. “So are you from around here?” He asked casually.
“I travel.”
“Oh,” said Daniel, “on what business?”
No amusement glinted in the cold, gray eyes as the stranger replied, “My own.”
Daniel casually reached into his jacket, pulling out his identification. “I’d like to ask you a few questions.”
The stranger glanced at him, “Be my guest.”
Daniel’s expression didn’t change, “Very well…I have information suggesting that you are involved in a drug chain on a massive scale.” Daniel was bluffing, of course, but the stranger didn’t need to know that.
The stranger sipped his whiskey, “What might that information be?”
Daniel smiled “Sorry, that’s confidential. I’m going to have to take you in for questioning.”
The stranger looked at him, “Unless you provide me with this ‘information’, I will not go with you.” This was stated in the flat, emotionless voice, that seemed to be the only one the man could use.
Daniel smiled easily, “I’m afraid that you don’t have a choice.” As he said it, he stepped back from the bar, pulling out his handgun.

Chapter 2

The stranger seemed to twitch, and the blade of a sword flashed out, slapping the gun out of Daniel’s hand. Daniel was surprised at the speed of his opponent, but not fazed. Recognizing his opponent’s skill at close quarters, he leaped backwards, getting distance, and slapped a remote control on his wrist that activated a specially attuned magnetic field. His gun flew back to his hand, while patrons of the pub scrambled frantically to get out of the way. He raised it to cover his assailant, but he was gone. Daniel looked around, but couldn’t make out his target anywhere. Activating a scanner, Daniel coded it to search for the man in a matter of seconds. The scan came up empty. He widened the range and tried again. A blip appeared on his screen, at the edge of town. “He’s fast!” Daniel muttered to himself, before running out of the pub and getting in his car. He sped along the road, with his car’s scanner now tracking his target as well. As the sleek black car sped past, people scrambled out of the way. Daniel didn’t have time for them however, and the car would avoid obstacles such as people unless Daniel set it to “Ram”, at which point it would become a much more formidable weapon. He raced out of town, rapidly gaining on the small blip on his screen.
Overtaking the blip, he pressed the eject button, and was launched out of the top of his car, pulling out his handgun as he went. According to his scanner, the stranger should be right in front of him. He wasn’t. Daniel landed, rolling to lessen the impact. He looked around: there was no one. He looked at his scanner again, confused: he was right on top of the blip. Cautiously, he looked around at the surrounding forest. He could see no one. Then the gun was again slapped from his hand. He spun around, backpedaling frantically to get distance from the figure that had appeared so quietly behind him. He slapped at his magnetic activator, but some sort of thrown missile sliced it off his wrist before he could get to it. As he reached for his emergency, two-shot laser, he felt the tip of a sword at his throat, and found himself looking into the dead, gray eyes of the stranger. He didn’t pause, but threw himself backwards onto the ground, scrabbling for his gun, only to realize that the stranger was standing over him, with the sword still at his throat. Daniel froze. The stranger waited. Daniel coughed slightly, “Maybe I made a mistake; I might have been looking for someone else.”
The stranger nodded slightly, “Maybe you are.”
Daniel made no move toward his gun as the stranger sheathed his sword again: he had seen the speed of the man. “Who are you?” He asked.
The masked head tilted slightly to one side, “I am known as Kit.”

Well, I took a while getting around to writing this, but here is chapter three.

Chapter 3

Daniel nodded acceptingly, “But why are you telling me this? You were so…distant….before.”
The cold, gray eyes zeroed in on his own, seeming to penetrate into his deepest being, considering him. Kit waited a moment, holding that position, but then sheathed his katana and said “I think you may be able to help me.”
Daniel didn’t move perceptibly, but the barest trace of a smug smile appeared on his face as he stood up, “What can I do for you?”
“Information.”
Daniel, brushing himself off, looked up, “Like what kind of information?”
“I need to know where someone is.”
“Who?”
Daniel had been watching Kit’s eyes closely, hoping to see a reaction, and he saw one now. The gray eyes tightened, and something cold and ugly appeared in there as Kit looked at Daniel now. The eyes were full of hatred, and Kit spoke a single word, “Cyprien.” Then the emotion was gone, and the eyes were as cold and dead as ever.
Daniel’s smile had been wiped off by the depth of the emotion he had glimpsed, as the mask that Kit held so rigidly in place slipped for a moment. However, the little smile returned as he said “Well, classified information like that requires payment.”
The katana flashed out of its sheath and appeared at Daniel’s throat, “I said that you might be useful. Not that I needed you.” His point made, Kit returned the katana to his sheath.
Daniel rubbed his throat, wondering at how rigidly emotionless Kit kept his face and voice at all times, as well as the sheer speed of the man. He thought about jumping back and trying for his gun, but he knew that, fast as he was, Kit was much, much faster. He decided, “Alright, I’ll see what I can do.”

Also, I just have to say...my little Kit has grown up!

Chapter 4

Daniel outlined his plan to the closely attentive Kit. Once inside the walls of Vydar’s palace, where the Krav Maga had their underground headquarters, Daniel would get Kit into the headquarters itself, but he would have to stop there, and Kit would be on his own. For a brief moment, Daniel wondered why he was helping a complete stranger break into a top secret vault. Then he brushed it off. After all, it looked like this guy was hunting Cyprien, and anything bad for Cyprien was good for Vydar, and thus Daniel as well.

Several hours later, as Daniel walked into the Microcorp official headquarters in Vydar’s palace, he was instantly scanned, the information processed, and the receptionist, who, if the computer had showed almost anyone else, would have escorted Daniel from out of the building. As is, they ignored him. He was Krav Maga. Whatever business he had in Microcorp headquarters was certainly nothing the receptionist wanted to know about, and the stranger was obviously with him. Once inside, Daniel brought him to an out of order elevator in a remote corner of the building. They got in, and Daniel swiped a card, punched in a code, and placed his hand on a pad, which read his fingerprints and pulse. Then, as the elevator began to descend, a scanner read both the passengers, discovering all the weapons, hidden or otherwise, on the two men. At the bottom, Daniel walked in to a much more subdued building than the one above ground. Above, there had been lighting, and brighter colors than the half-lit, gray steel of the underground headquarters. Daniel leaned over the wall to a keypad, and punched in a code. A small, maybe square foot of wall disappeared, sinking into the darkness behind to be replaced by a touch screen. Daniel punched in some buttons on the screen. It flashed “Elevator readings”, and then “Clear recent?”. Daniel pressed the “Yes” button, and then, satisfied, pressed in another code and the keyboard disappeared. Daniel turned to Kit, who had been watching carefully. Again, he had misgivings about letting this deadly, cold warrior into his base, but he brushed them aside again. He had his target inside the strike zone, he could just call in backup and take him out. Still, the nagging feeling that it wouldn’t be that easy stuck with him. “Here is where we part,” he told Kit, “You must do the rest on your own.”

Kit tilted his head slightly to one side, and then said “Very well. How do I know that you won’t have me captured as soon as I leave your sight?”

Daniel looked offended, “Why would I go to the trouble?”

Kit’s eyes once again pierced his, and Daniel was sure that Kit would realize what he was going to do. However, Kit just nodded, “I give you the benefit of the doubt. For now.” He turned and strode off.

Daniel watched him go uneasily, but once he was out of sight, he lifted his watch his to his mouth, hesitated a moment, and then spoke a single word. “Engage.”

I like how this story is going. However, it would have been extremely hilarious had the scanner rapidly listed all of Kit's weapons until eventually it short circuited itself.
