It is that time again… Get ready for the TREE TOWN OPEN III hopefully bigger and even better than last year. To pre-register -Please e-mail me at heroscaperdad@yahoo.com . In your e-mail I will need a name ( online name / real name optional ) your T-shirt size and which state you reside in. If you are bringing anyone else with you I will also need their T-shirt size. Optional but very much appreciated would be a cell phone number that you or your group can be reached at while enroute.

The event will again be held at the Super Bowl . The Super Bowl is located one mile east of Forest City on highway 9 -or- 14 miles west of I-35 / hwy 9 interchange.

Sign in: 9:30 – 9:50 am
Start 1st round: 10:00 am

Entry fee: $10

Format: Swiss Style
530-point army ( No Custom or Marvelscape figures )
1-hour time limit per round.

Maps – Links to maps shown in post below (24 hex starting positions on each map) There will be four different maps one featuring RTTFF "Annihilation Alley", another with Lava "Hot Heights", another will Ice & Snow ", Shawing Tundra , Swarm of the Marro "Water of Life Battlefield "( Tree and starting locations as well as any modification to be announced soon ) We will have 8 of each map so everyone should be able to play on every one at least once and hopefully no more than twice on any one map.

TTO Rule: - Any figure adjacent to a tree may roll an additional defense die when being attacked by a non-adjacent figure. ( what did you expect after all your playing in " The Tree Town Open ")

NOTE: I'm ordering 64 shirts - everyone that registered and sent me a shirt size will get one when you show up... I have ordered a few extra for the last minute walk-ins - hopefully everyone will get one.

- Glyphs -

There will be two random gyphs face down on each map. They will remain face down until a figure moves onto the gyph. The pool of gyphs being used are:

Astrio – ( Attack +1)
Brandard – ( Does Nothing (Decoy))
Crevcor – ( Common Attack +1 )
Dagmar – ( Initiative + 8 )
Erland – ( Summoning )
Gerda – ( Defense + 1 )
Jailgaurd – ( Defense + 2 )
Lodin - (+1 to D20 roll )
Thorian – ( All opponents figures must be adjacent to use their normal attack )
Ulaniva – ( Unique Attack + 1 )
Valda – ( Move + 2 )
Wannok – ( End round, roll 20-side die. If you roll a 1, the figure on the glyph takes a wound. If you roll a 2 or higher your opponent gives a wound to any figure he controls in the battlefield.

I second that motion NHD was loads of fun last year, and it was great looking at other tournies across the country and seeing how they went (all on the same day!). National Heroscape Day is on October 20th? I say yes, let's make it work.

Oh, and Codeman, as expected, John and I will be coming to the tourney. I'm not sure about my other brother yet, but I'll be sure to let you know. I'll be dropping you an e-mail as well, but just wanted you to know. Can TTO3 crack the 50 entrant level and be the largest (and best :P ) HS event ever? I think it will

It is early, but I am planing on room for 64 !
32 tables / 32 maps It will break down into four diffenent maps
8 - RTFF + 1 MS
8 - Lava + 1 MS
8 - Tundra + 1 MS
8 - TBD

To keep the TTO a one day tourney I think 64 or so is the max amount we can realistically do in a day. Time will tell how many we end up with, but I think we may hit 64, and I think with all the great help we have had in the past I have no doubt even with 64 the TTO will go smoothly.

I can't say for sure 100% just yet, but I will do everything I can to get D-Man and I there for this tourney. Maybe I can convince Pat and his boy to come with us agian too. Any chance of a kid's tourney on the side? Can't wait!

There are a bunch of new units and wave 3 out before then. I'm going to have to start watching how they will impact the metagame. I'll let you know as soon as I can if we are coming for sure. Later,

Thank you, but what do you mean by early? The bowling will be closed early Saturday morning . You are welcome to bring the extra Master Sets but I don't think you will have time nor place to set them up as I have all the table space already spoken for. Once registration/sign-in begins we will be just a 1/2 hour (or so) from starting the tourney.

If you want to build one of the tourney maps on a panel and bring it along with a cardtable ( or maybe build it on the cardtable ). That may be good insurance if we have an overflow crowd. We could fit it into the end of the appropriate row if needed and we will already have plenty of chairs. Let me know if you are interested in that... we may never need it, but if you don't mind and are willing to haul it with you that would be great.
