More Marvel Heroscape? When?

I think it's time to think about life beyond official Marvel Heroscape (and that doesn't mean life beyond Marvel Heroscape ...)

I will always hold that last bit of breath for more Marvelscape. Some Walmarts that had the Marvel Master set on Clearance for last Christmas, now have brand new boxes sitting on their shelves for full price. Maybe they will be open to taking on some expansion packs some day....

.... oh who am I kidding. They're stacking up a few Marvel boxes to sit alongside a few DnD sets and see if they feed off of each other...

... but wait, if new players are brought in by DnD and are so addicted like we were, that they run and buy Marvel, then maybe a boost in sales will convince WOTC to start producing Marvel waves...

... or I could stop smoking the air found inside bubble wrap and just hope that some real dedicated Superhero-scape custom creators have gotten together and produced a mighty fine "product" for us all to enjoy. And maybe for variety sake, they could even consider a Marvel competitor as the theme.

See we are all worried about marvel overpowering heroscape and D@D looks like more of a threat to me. They already have stuff planed for after they let go of master set three! if anything it would be D@D overpowering heroscape. but i would like to see more marvel then D@D.

True, but they aren't using new figures, just reusing ones from the D & D Minis. Marvel needed all new sculpts and play testing.

I still hope for Marvel sets.....

No chance of that the rights have been picked up by a Japanese company and they just released Thor's Hammer the last production set before they went belly up. So somebody is now producing Heroclix again. Sorry to bear bad news.

And I knew they'd scooped it up - that doesn't mean they'll hold on to it.

Actually, NECA (which purchased Wizkids) is an American company. It's not some Japanese name, it's an acronym for National Entertainment Collectibles Association. Just wanted to clear that up.

We all hope for more marvel, but we cant put that hope too high or we'll fall all they in disapointment that they might not do them again. We can hope for star wars though too, right?

I think our best hope might be that they already have molds for Marvel Wave 1. If the reason they released D&D with pre-existing miniatures was to save money, then Marvel must look better and better as they look for cheaper ways to release new product.

On a slightly different note: do you think that one of the reasons they're integrating D&D 'Scape fully with Classic 'Scape is because they perceived that lack-of-integration was one of the reasons Marvel didn't sell? Did Marvel fail just because it was the first license and they didn't understand how best to market it? It would be sad if they go on to license other properties and all of them go, but Marvel stays in the realm of "what might've been?"
