How about Christmas time? I'm thinking the event will be called "Christmas Scape: Let it Snow," and will feature all tundra maps.

The maps will be designed and provided 1 each by Sweetcurse, Jonathan, and Junge Roman. (this is arbitrary and not confirmed) The only requirements are that each map will utilize at least 1 TT set, have 2x 36hex start zones, and will fit within a 24" x 36" envelope. Furthermore, all spaces on the maps will be accessible by nonflying characters, and the maps will otherwise meet all Heroscape rules criteria. Maps will not feature glyphs, but will feature heavy snow and regular ice.

The format will be 2 on 2 random teams which will change each tournament round. Each person will bring a 300 point army. Each participant will play each map once. An individual winner will be declared based on number of 1st place finishes, then 2nds, then 3rds. If you do the math, that's 12 participants who only have to do the minimal amount of planning ahead.

I will search for a neutral and accomodating venue.

Does this sound like a fun and workable idea?

I have proposed an idea, and there appears to be interest. If I can deliver on a venue and a date, I'll open an event thread for signups.

I'm actually still interested in trying this Montag's place, personally. I think it'd be fun to play at a game store.

Attention Houston! We are getting the Team Tournament up and running here in Dallas. It is still almost 4 months away so you have plenty of time to make travel arrangements and secure a team mate.

Hey, gang - winter tourney sounds good, Junge's parameters sound good, although I am unable to do anthing until the semester is over - December 9th.

So, perhaps the weekend of the 12-14 or the 19-21 would be nice. I'm cool with Friday night so that ProSpecT can play, although I just realized that TBO works nights. Any chance of getting a switcheroo for the tourney, ProSpecT?

Unfortunately I am a Targetarian slave. My responsibility has upped, which also means more pay hehe. However, Christmas means no weekends off unless I asked for them off 6 months in advance...
