With his life number, he's not a bad choice to use with the MacDirks Highland power, assuming, of course, you don't want to use Alastair for some reason.

Hawthorne used for the Highland Fury is another good illustration of why you use only one card for all of your common units of a given type. You cannot split up your MacDirk Warriors, with some bonding to one Human Champion and some bonding with another (and then facing the nightmare of trying to keep track of who is bonded with whom). At least, that's the way I'd read the rules.

I think he'd rule with the Macdirks because of the already stated six life and he's only 90pts. but the only reason I'd use Alaster is because with Orextend he can choose to wound himself which gives the Macdirks and extra attack even if an enemy didn't wound Alaster. I think that it is appropriate to post here in "Book of Sir Hawthorne" the fact that he is named after Jerry "Grungebob" Hawthorne (or just Grungebob as he is known here on Heroscapers.com). This has been discussed many times before, but I think it should be mentioned here for the sake of any newer members who don't know it.

Just one question about the backstab ability. At the weekend i played a game with my dad and brother, my dads last figure on the board was Sir Hawthorne and he managed to roll a 1 So my dad gave me Hawthorne and he was out of the game. But if i had rolled a 1, would i have been able to give Hawthorne back to my dad, as it states on the card 'choose an opponent', or would you not be able to give him to an opponent with no charcters left? |

As generous as your impulse to return Sir Hawthorne to your dad, I believe that once you are out of the game, you're out of the game; and you'd have to give him, alas and alack!, to your brother instead.

Re: The Book of Sir Hawthorne
I have a question concerning back stab. If your opponent only has 1 figure left, and Hawthorne destroys him (essentially ending the game) do you have to finish your turn and roll for back stab? or is the game just over?

Re: The Book of Sir Hawthorne
As soon as the last opposing figure is destroyed, the game's over.
