Has anyone here ever read 'The Goon' by Dark Horse Comics? I've never read any issues or really even heard about it until I started seeing talk about a movie. Since then what limited stuff I have seen concerning the comic looks pretty interesting and I'd see the movie as a result. However the movie idea has stalled now and the people behind it are trying to kickstart it.

What he meant was the one of you would sign up to playtest a unit, and then both of you would do a write up for the figure, from each of your points-of-views of the figures, from the friendly and opponent's side.

What it actually is, is that you can't have two of the same Identity in YOUR army, but you both could run the same exact figures if you wanted.

So say Chief signed up to play test American Dream.

He would play her in an army against my people. And we could both give our opnions of her.

OR

He signs up & we both use her in our army to fight it out.

first option sounds more reasonable.

You have not yet went over the playtesting rules. But one of the suggesting methods of testing a character is to have them play themselves. This helps reveal possible loops or at times can reveal how certain designs can break the game.

Yep. She is confused because we house rule at our local gameshop that you can only ever have one of each Unique Hero/Secret Identity in play at once, regardless of who is in control. We felt as a group that it was more thematic this way.

Both options are on the table. And to be honest would be required in order to fully explore the new design.
