Table shape: Hex VS Square?

i've been noticing that a lot of people have haxagonal shaped tables. Do these tables work any better than a square table? Right now i have a hand made (by me) rectangular table (6x4) that can hold a decent amount of HS on it.It's been in my room until we can finish the garage, and we have almost 0 space to walk around it. Would a hex table have enough table space for a 4-6 MS map and still have walking room, while still being able to store under my bed?

I did the math and if I'm wrong the hex shaped table will hold more heroscape stuff.

Well good luck.

wait, if you're wrong the hex will hold more, but if you did your math right, the square would? O.o

Been there friend, but I'm getting too old for that. I think circular tables are best. I bought a 6x3 table then realized I was a fool. I blame it on my Warhammer days. Rectangles are just too limiting. Circles are where it's at.

What about an ellipse? I dunno just throwing out shapes. I'd go with hex. More sides for friends.

yeah, but when am i ever going to have 6 people over for HS? Not often, i tell you. and my current 6x4 table has more surface area. Ifi wanted to make a hex with more SA it'd have to be like 6 feet from point to point, and that'd be pushing it.

My home is kinda' small so extravagantly shaped tables aren't an option.

My game table doubles for my art/research table and it's a large 3.5x5.5 table. The reason this works best for me is due where things need to be stored. Since my house is small everything is Parallel and Perpendicular, plus my game/art/living room has 4 doors in it (not alot of choice, )

My mind is the Pink Zippo that sits on top of a pack of Camel Wides.
