Abilities: All markers used, 2 on bonus attacks, 3 on reroll effects (2 for Sting Scream, 1 for Zephyr Throw).

General Flow:
R1: First round features 3 wounds put on Charlene by Star Lord and 3 put on Star Lord by Pete. Star-Lord ends the round with a real bad distracting fire.
R2: Pete’s Scream only does 1 wound to Star Lord (even with Kris giving a reroll) and Torque completely whiffs a hit on Star Lord. Gamora doesn’t hit Pete. Faith flies up Charlene, and the Renegade Rampage lets Torque plop Faith by Drax as he takes out Star Lord, then Pete attack, but fail to wound Drax. Pete protects Faith from Drax. Drax whiffs a defense roll against Pete, who activates Faith. Faith’s throw with reroll isn’t enough to kill Drax. Gamora takes out Charlene.
R3: Pete kicks off the round with a scream, disabling Gamora for the round and the reroll gives him 2 skulls instead of 1. With the poor defense rolls, he takes out Drax. Faith chucks Gamora into the water, and the warrior can’t roll more than a single shield as Kris removes her last marker to give Torque and Pete both final attacks on her.

General thoughts: Proved to be a fairly accurate Renegade game from my estimation. They hit hard, they hit fast, and the Guardians struggled to react. I think a bonding army will likely give them a lot more trouble, as it becomes less obvious who to target to try to minimize chance at reprisal.

General Flow:
R1: Top hits the Renegades with an exploding Top (hurting Faith) and Weather Wizard drops a Tornado by Pete, which he takes a wound from. Pete takes a wound from this and Cold freezes him by the Tornado. Pete lets Torque move up.
R2: Pete goes first. He isn’t buffeted by Tornado, but he is frozen down, limiting his range for the Scream he goes for. A reroll is used, and Scream winds up with 2 skulls and 1 blank. Top is neutralized, but no wounds dealt. He activates Torque. He charges and one-shots Boomerang, whose Order Marker is shifted over to Cold. Faith and Charlene are pulled up. Cold puts a wound on Torque. Heat Wave hits Charlene, Faith and Pete. Charlene puts a wound on Weather Wizard when pulled away by Faith, who threw Cold down low. Kris calls for an all-in strike now, as Torque slams into Cold for 1 wound (letting Pete escape the Tornado). Charlene Rolls all skulls on her Flamingo Fire (beefed up by the two wounds on Faith) roasting the Captain. She rolls 2 blanks on the unblockables against herself. Weather Wizard takes turn now, and in a panic flies into the water to unleash a Lightning Storm. This kills Torque and puts 2 wound on Charlene. Faith doesn’t manage to avenge her fallen friend by throwing him again. Turn 3 is missed on Top.
R3: Weather Wizard starts, but Lightning Storm fails all 3 rolls. Pete screams and the reroll lets him neutralize Top. He activates Faith, who just by pulling Charlene out kills Weather Wizard. Turn 2 is missed on the Top. Faith is reverse thrown by Magenta, but Kris spends for bonus attacks, which just leads to Charlene also being killed by Magenta. Pete activates Faith, who throws Heat Wave into the Tornado for two wounds.
R4: Pete kills Heat Wave, then allows Faith to throw the Top into the Tornado. Turn 2 lost on Heat Wave. Pete puts 1 on Magenta and flies Faith closer to trap Magenta in the water. Magenta attacks, but Pete blocks it with his Psionic Fields. Kris unnecessarily spends last marker to let Pete amp up his normal attack for the kill.

General thoughts: Closer game here, with the Rogues having some autowounding and the ability to break up the pack (highly evident with Pete only really blocking with Fields once). Seems we might need a tweak down some here on power level after 2 wins. She’s got great abilities that are bringing some really solid hitting power here.

R1: Red Skull moves into position and takes 2 wounds. Pete flies up and neutralizes Torch, then bringing up Faith and Torque. Torque whiffs a longshot from Invisible Woman, dying. Pete and Faith kill Sue.
R2: Fan 4 win Initiative, and Torch roasts Peter. Reed and Thing kill Faith. They proceed to take out Skull as well.
R3: Torch takes out Kris.

General thoughts: Ouch. Bad early rolls cost dearly, and that initiative win for the Fan 4 was real bad. No markers spent here, so lets just plain try a redo. Skulls rerolls were enough that Kris wasn’t used really.

Unit Summary:
Nada.

General Flow:
R1: Red Skull moves into position and survives first attacks. Pete blocks Reed’s attack on him. Torque charges Torch, and Kris spends for a reroll so he deals 3 wounds.
R2: Fan 4 win Initiative, and roll an 8 for Leadership. Thing takes out Skull and Reed leaves Pete to lockdown Faith. Faith is stuck, but Kris spends to let Torque and Pete attack. She spends again to reroll on Sting Scream, but the attack just gets worse is all (3 skulls made into 2 skulls and a blank). Fan 4 attacks, and Pete has to protect himself from Thing after a wound. Reed whiffs last Leadership and fails to hurt Pete. Kris spends to amp up Torque’s hit enough to finish off Torch, but no one can move due to Reed Lockdown.
R3: Fan 4 win initiative again. A weakened Thing puts 1 on Faith, with Reed dealing 2 more. Kris spends the last marker for a reroll on Sting Scream, allowing Pete to lock down Thing for the round and put 2 wounds on Reed when he whiffs. Torque fails to hurt Sue and Reed fails to kill Faith. Pete puts 1 on Reed and Torque puts 1 on Sue. Reed continues poor Leadership roles, and is blocked by Pete. Faith is fairly useless against Reed here by being locked in place.
R4: And we have our first instance of Kris in desperation, as initiative is dropped from a 19 to a 9, losing to the Fan 4s 11. Pete blocks for himself, but Thing kills Faith anyway. Sting scream does nothing, even with 3 skulls rolled. The Renegades drop like flies here.
R5: Kris is eventually picked off.

General thoughts: This one felt pretty close, just some bad luck in trying to take out Torch when Reed started locking people down well. Fun game, and nice to see the initiative penalty actually come in.

General Flow:
R1: Armies converge. Pete locks down Cage on turn 2, then blocks Fist on turn 3. Fist heals the wound Torque did to Cage.
R2: Renegade initiative. Pete plops down in the middle of the Fighters, lets out a Scream. Reroll changes nothing about the roll, but there was a blank, so Jessica is locked down. He activates Faith, who moves Charlene for 1 auto on Cage and throws him for 1 as well. Luke is now out of range of fellow fighters. He fails to hurt Charlene, then Faith chucks him again, allowing Charlene to burn him. Kris spends for bonus attacks, allowing Charlene to finish him off and put 4 on Jessica who whiffed. Oms got moved to the Stung Jessica. Pete takes out Jessica and Torque whiffs against Iron Fist.
R3: Shang Chi goes after Pete, but he blocks with Fields, causing Chi to go after Torque, putting one wound on. Faith flies up Charlene and Kris spends for two attacks, with Torque failing but allowing a burn from Charlene on Shang Chi. Pete Screams with a reroll (no blanks added) locking down Shang Chi. Fist puts 2 wounds on Pete then heals Shang Chi for 1. Faith throws Shang Chi for 3, while allowing Charlene to burn Iron Fist for 1. Turn 3 is a locked down Chi. Pete puts 2 on Fist. Charlene’s Flamingo Fire puts 1 on Shang Chi.
R4: Fighters take initiative. Iron Fist rolls 4 skulls on Charlene, but Pete blocks it. He heals Shang Chi. Pete goes for the Scream, gets only 2 skulls but holds off on the reroll. Pete activates Faith, who fails to hurt Fist while Charlene fails to burn Chi on the way out. Pete barely survives an onslaught from Shang Chi (1 life remaining). He backs off and misses Chi, but activates Charlene. Kris spends her last marker, resulting in a 3 skull 3 auto skull attack, roasting Iron Fist. Charlene takes 1 wound in the process. Faith throws Chi and Chi is now back down to 1 life.
R5: Going into the last round, initiative is lost due to Kris’s lack of markers (16 becomes 6 vs 9). Pete protects himself from Chi, but Charlene takes 2 hits. Pete’s scream kills Shang Chi.

General thoughts: Could have gotten bad there at the end. Locking foes down at the right time is big (such as Jessica Jones in round 2) as it can potentially wreck an entire turn for foes.

GENERAL THOUGHTS ON THE TESTED UNIT: She brings some great stability to the team, and the general resource limit thing feels awesomely evocative. She’s in a tentative spot I think, as she can make the Renegade’s tricks a lot more consistent, which can be great against the right armies, but not enough against others. First thing I could see ticking down is the bonus attacks as (even though they were used less) they often got a nice kill in, or opened up some effective moves alongside a Scream from Peter. She can be pretty all or nothing, but I dig that about the design.

Two games down and 2 wins. I may just have really good luck with this faction, but I'm thinking some sort of tick down is in order. Leaving Engagement avoidance might need ditched, or dropping one of the bonus attacks on Rampage. Not 100% sure, as one barely mattered in the first game, and in the second usually only one attack did much of anything.

The closeness of game 2 might mean she's okay though. A little bit better tolling for Magenta (who got a frightening number of 16s) would have been doom for the Renegades.

I'm not too concerned based on that data. It's a small sample size so it's hard to make too big of adjustments based on that. Do you feel like she is worth more than 100 after that or did both teams feel like they could win?

Game 1 was very solidly a Renegade win. Game 2 definitely felt like it could have gone either way. Pete and Kris together create a bit of a scissors effect that can be real nasty against armies that don't have much in the way of Order Marker saves or multiple turns. Rogues had that and fared a lot better. She provides very nice things, but they're a little tough to assess with a glass cannon army, so you're right in the "don't panic after just 2 games" assessment.

Alright, all games in. They won all their 900 point games, but lost other in other builds. This team really feels like they live and die by the initiative roll (literally won initiative in Round 2 of each win and lost initiative in Round 2 of each loss). Time to pass her to some other hands though:

Summary: While the Renegades still lost, they felt pretty darn good here. Kris makes them more reliable, but is a liability herself, as Spidey chased her down midway through the game. Everyone felt really good, my only thought is that Faith feels a bit like dead weight compared to everyone else’s power, but all in all they feel good. Luke was too tough for them to crack this time, but they did manage to drop Iron Fist extremely quickly.

Recap: Torque charges ahead, and DD and Luke deal 2 damage to him. Pete uses Scream and misses, and Charlene uses Flamingo Fire and only deals 1 wound to DD, but takes two. Charlene burns up DD and avoids any damage. Torque grabs height on Fist, and uses a marker to deal 2 wounds to him, then Kris uses another marker to go Rampage, but they can only deal 1 more wound to Fist. Next round Charlene burns up Fist but takes one more wound. Luke finishes Charlene, then Torque shortly after. Spider-Man rushes after Kris, and shoots her for a wound. Faith throws Spidey so he can’t Sling, but he dodges then gets close to Kris and finishes her. Luke gets close, hitting Faith for 3 wounds. Pete hits Spidey for 2 wounds. Spidey easily finishes Faith. Luke gets a lucky shot and Pete burns his marker. Pete attacks Spidey, misses, and Spidey swings away, allowing him to Sling Pete to low ground for an easy kill.

Summary: Close game! Wonder Woman went down way too fast, but the Amazons kept fighting. If Arrowette chased down Kris maybe this would have went a different direction, but it was close.

Recap: Pete shoots Donna from height, hitting her for 2. Faith carries Torque to height. WW hits Torque for one wound, which powers down his SA and also deals a wound to Pete. Pete uses his Scream to try to shut down WW, burning 2 markers to do so, but can’t get a blank. He ends up with 3 skulls which kills Donna and misses WW. Torque misses WW. Pete wallops WW for 4 wounds! The Amazons do a spear volley on Charlene but miss. Charlene hits WW for a wound. WW has her fury now, and kills Torque, and burns Pete’s shield. Pete then Stings WW and an Amazon. Pete misses WW, but Charlene finishes her with a Flamingo Fire. Arrowette grabs the last OM, and shoots Charlene for 2 wounds. The Amazons unleash a 7 die Spear Volley to take out Charlene. Pete kills two Amazons with his Sting. Faith throws an Amazon into the castle ruin wall to kill her. Pete uses another Sting to try to clear out more Amazons, he uses 2 more markers but can’t roll a single skull. Arrowette takes a shot at Pete but misses. The Amazons hit Pete once and Faith for 2. Pete uses another scream to kill an Amazon. Arrowette grabs two OMs to go for the kill on Pete. She misses her rolls, only getting her two autoskulls, and Pete doesn’t use his shield, taking a wound. Pete disengages and rushes Arrowette, missing. Pete is forced to use his shield, and hits her for 2 wounds. Pete kills Arrowette. The last squad of Amazons finish off Faith easily. Pete goes toe to toe with the last few Amazons, and it’s EXTREMELY close, but Pete pulls through.

THOUGHTS ON THE TESTED UNIT'S COST, BALANCE, & DRAFTABILITY:
She’s basically a necessity for the Renegades. Obviously she’s weak to a good assassin or Flash figure, but they’re glass cannons at heart, so it fits and is cool. The whole faction feels good at 900.

Very happy here. She pulls together the team in a very satisfying and interesting way.

Surprised that Faith was feeling like dead weight that first game. Her pod busting was the clencher for me when I put them up against a similar team. I think they're an interesting bunch overall, as Pete and Torque will generally feel solid, but Charlene and Faith I feel kind of rotate who was really earning their keep in the pair. Looking solid here and that's pretty exciting!
