Re: The Book of Hun - Public Playtesting
Well, with that many squads in play just make sure you have some figures on the other team capable of dealing with it. Actually I'd consider taking Judge Dredd as one of the figures, his double SA that can hit two people has the potential to take out 4 squad figures with 1 OM. The Hand Ninja & Street Thugs have low enough defense that at attack of 3 should be effective as long as the dice don't mistreat you.

Re: The Book of Hun - Public Playtesting
Plus, the Street Thugs are Criminals, and so subtract one from their defence - I'm farily sure Dredd should be more than capable of clawing through their massive defence of one (two on concrete or asphalt or when on regular height). I'd also be kind of nice to see another game against the Turtles, but that's by no means a necessity.

Re: The Book of Hun - Public Playtesting
Since my card collection is ancient, I tend to test with older designs, hope that is OK.
Hun(175), Winter Soldier(240), Kirigi(175), Street Thugs x2(150) & Hand Ninja x3(255) ~995 vs. Ms. Marvel(350), Dragon Man(320), Judge Dredd(240) & Civs x2(90) ~1000 |

Re: The Book of Hun - Public Playtesting
Testing with designs you are familiar with is never a bad thing. More likely to play them smartly and get a more accurate feel for how the new design compares to what has come before.
Can't say I have ever used the civilians so I don't really understand how they help you (can't screen the ninja as they have disengage), but if you have a plan for them then go for it. Personally I would have tossed Vulture or Angel in as my 90 filler hero. They can both 'rescue' Ms. Marvel or Dredd if they get surrounded by Hun and friends, pulling them back out of danger. |

Re: The Book of Hun - Public Playtesting
Good point YK.
I may switch that out. Though they can still thwart Hun and the Thugs and Winter, though he will probably hang back. And you are right about playing figures you know. I tend to use the same builds or else I am not sure I am playing them right. |

C3G STANDARD PLAYTEST FEEDBACK FORM
NAME OF THE PLAYTEST UNIT: Hun Army Test Map: Custom Map Units: Hun @175, Hand Ninja x3, Street Thugs x2, Kirigi & Winter Soldier (995) vs Ms. Marvel, Dragon Man, Judge Dredd & Civs x2(90) (1000)
Spoiler Alert!
___________________________________________________________ Army Test Map: Custom Map Units: Hun @175, Hand Ninja x2, Street Thugs x2, Kirigi (670) vs Ms. Marvel, Dredd & Angel(90) ~ (680)
Spoiler Alert!
___________________________________________________________ THOUGHTS ON THE TESTED UNIT'S COST, BALANCE, & DRAFTABILITY: Did not post my results from the first test as Winter Soldier and the Ninja wiped the floor with Ms Marvel and Dredd and Hun and the Thugs never got involved. The real power lies with the Ninja, Kirigi and Winter Soldier which was evident in the second match as well. So I dropped Winter for the last test and got some better results. Hun felt alright. Hard to say if he needs to go up or down any, he felt pretty good. I like his powers, though it would be nice if the Thugs went before their Crimelord but having the Ninja around to move in and engage helps to make up for it. Fun design. Re: The Book of Hun - Public Playtesting
Thanks, chap!
Hopefully, I should be able to get some pictures up over the weekend - the figure's painted, I just need my brother to photograph it for me. Okay, I'll probably be heading into final editing soon, but there's one query I'd like to put to you guys first - I have very little actual preference here, so, do you think he should come in at: a) 165; or; b) 175. I'd love to hear your responses. ~Lazy Orang, who'd like to see his cost end in 5 to fit in with the existing Foot Clan units. |

Re: The Book of Hun - Public Playtesting
Ultimately, it's not much of a difference, but from my experience I'll go 165. Though, as has been said, I didn't use him in his premiere build so I don't plan to push for that. I trust the others to better judge.

Re: The Book of Hun - Public Playtesting
He did not feel over powered to me at all and I will support either cost.
Like I said, the Ninja and Winter Soldier are vastly more powerful. |
