Re: The Book of Cosmo (Breathing)
NAME = Cosmo
SPECIES = Dog UNIQUENESS = Unique Hero CLASS = Telepath PERSONALITY = Loyal SIZE/HEIGHT = Small 3 LIFE = 3 MOVE = 5 RANGE = 3 ATTACK = 3 DEFENSE = 5 POINTS = 160 CONTINUUM CORTEX After revealing an Order Marker on the card of a figure you control and instead of taking a turn with that figure, if Cosmo is in your Start Zone, you may remove any number of unrevealed Order Markers from this card. For each Order Marker removed, you may choose a figure you control on the battlefield. If the chosen figure is not in your Start Zone, place it on an unoccupied space in your Start Zone. If the chosen figure is in your Start Zone, place the chosen figure on an unoccupied space on the battlefield that is not within 3 spaces of a Start Zone. Figures moved by this special power will not take any leaving engagement attacks and cannot be placed adjacent to any enemy figures. TELEPATHIC PARALYSIS After revealing an Order Marker on this card and attacking a figure without the Mental Shield special power, if at least 2 shields were rolled, you may remove one unrevealed Order Marker at random from the defending figure's card. PSYCHIC DEFENSE X Once per round, if Cosmo or any friendly figure within 3 spaces of Cosmo is attacked by a figure that does not have the Mental Shield special power, and at least 1 skull is rolled, you may reveal an "X" Order Marker on this card. If you do, the attacking player's turn immediately ends and the attacked figure receives no wounds. Last edited by Arkham; April 4th, 2017 at 08:17 PM. |

Re: The Book of Cosmo (Breathing)
Hey everyone, I figured I'd drum up some excitement in the lead up to the new Guardians of the Galaxy movie. I'm sure most if not all are excited for the sequel, so why not have a new design to coincide with the release in early May? I'll be designing Cosmo in the public for everyone to see, that way we can all enjoy his release immediately upon his completion!

Re: The Book of Cosmo (Breathing)
Continuum Cortex encourages some possibilities (jump Cable on height, etc) but the OM reveal + instead of a turn makes it pretty hard to exploit. Intentional that it can be used for glyph grabs ("unoccupied" versus "empty")?
Has synergy with Star-Lord and Groot. Nice. |

Re: The Book of Cosmo (Breathing)
Looks like a fun design - it'll be nice to have a second decent Small figure for Groot to be able to carry alongside Rocket.

Re: The Book of Cosmo (Breathing)
I honestly didn't know the difference between unoccupied and empty, so whichever seems more reasonable and balanced we'll roll with.
Yeah, the Groot and Star-Lord synergy is key, as I definitely want to encourage his draftability with them as much as possible. |

Re: The Book of Cosmo (Breathing)
Doesn't seem like the end of the world to let him send people to glyphs. Continuum Cortex is a high OM-investment power. I tend to play without glyphs, though, so I may be underestimating how valuable that is.
Cool to see this guy started up. |

Re: The Book of Cosmo (Breathing)
I really like the direction. Continuum Cortex and Psychic Defense X is a really cool combo.
I'd prefer to see his range lowered to 3. Psychic attacks are generally represented with a range of 3 or 4. I don't really see the point of Telepathic Paralysis; it doesn't really add to the design, it's not particularly fun or strategic or necessary for theme. I'd rather see it cut in favor of just a really cool 2-power card. C3G: Taking Superheroes to a Whole New Level! C3V: The Legacy of Classic 'Scape! Re: The Book of Cosmo (Breathing)
I'd have to disagree with you there, Viegon - IMO, it adds a nice little fun bonus to his normal attack, which, therefore, makes him more useful when paired with Star-Lord - considering most of his powers are support rather than helping his stat-line, I think that's a nice addition here to help that synergy.

Re: The Book of Cosmo (Breathing)
I could go either way on that. It's not too essential, since Star-Lord likes him anyway (not-too-expensive figure with a rare species that provides mobility and something to do with your X OM), but having a little extra weight behind his normal attack doesn't hurt either.

Re: The Book of Cosmo (Breathing)
I guess it will come down to what he comes out at point-wise and LD preference.
Dropping TP could shave off a few points if he is testing higher than desired. |
