Since a Wolf of Badru's Pounce is considered to be a ranged attack, does it avoid the effects of Engaement Strike 15?

From a rule point of view, the pounce special attack is simply a ranged attack, with an added conditionnal movement after the attack, depending of the result.

So a wolf pouncing on a figure having Engagement Strike 15 won't give it the opportunity to use the Engagement strike.
On the other hand, if the wolf successfully pounce a figure that was adjacent to another figure having this power, Engagement Strike 15 of this other figure will trigger when you place the wolf because of pounce.
